Maging a several hours long arena for a melee skill. Makes perfect sense (IMG:[

Oh.. I didn't melee the last round.
But I kept using Soul Reaper, to replenish my Spirit points. To get the spirit from affected enemy, it needs to be physically hit.
So when I infused Holy to my staff, even that did holy damage. I still mainly casted it to death.
Rest easy. Main damage came from spells.
After staying awake that long, I no longer trusted my brain.
1) I cast holy
2) I cast Soul Reaper
3) I hit it with staff (to get spirit)
I was almost unconscious upon completion, so if I had not used a routine, I might have gotten dead.
My fingers moved, but I was sleeping.
If I could have bottled the pain in my eyes, I would have sold it for the Finnish army to use as a defensive weapon.
I agree with needing a staff to do this.
I do believe possible to do it as melee. I just couldn't do it.
BUT !
I you have:
1) Innate Arcana V
2) Ethereal Mace of Illithid.
Then yea, but who does ?
Who ever does it first, be sure to tell how you did it.
To give you an idea what kind of a "mage" I am (I'm melee dammit)
Here you see how many points I need to level up a primary attribute
To level up ---- Needed exp
Strength------------------601,686,724
Dexterity-----------------601,686,724
Agility--------------------601,686,724
Endurance---------------601,686,724
Intelligence-------------61,664,550
Wisdom-----------------601,686,724
There's a slight, very tiny, almost non-existant possibility that other mages have invested more into intelligence.
