QUOTE(hitokiri84 @ Oct 15 2010, 10:52) QUOTE(Boggyb @ Oct 15 2010, 09:38) Artifacts are underpriced at 10,000C.
Doesn't look like such a deal to me. I would never buy artifacts for 10k. Then again, I am the Scrooge McDuck of HV. At a hath price of 4,500C, artifacts have a hath value of 6750. (Assuming you have maxed shrine stats, you should average 1.5 hath per artifact). That means that artifacts have a true cost of 3250C. After approximately 18-19 levels of Ability boost, buying artifacts is a much more cost efficient means of getting AP. (The number is a little higher at 5,500C and approximately 26-27 levels of ability boost assuming you don't have any shrine stats)

I haven't gotten a shrine stat in about my last 100 artifacts, dating back to.... March, I'd say. This post has been edited by hitokiri84: Oct 15 2010, 20:05

Even so, artifacts are probably the cheapest way to get AP, especially because of the hath prices. And especially because everything else you might spend your credits on isn't worth the cost.

That entirely depends on what I deem valuable. Right now it's not on the off chance that I get hath, which is further marginalized by the possibility of not braking even (2 hath reward.)

That's the same number as me. I was hoping to get mine maxed soon..

Wait, 11 points left? Have you maxed your abilities already? Meh, I maxed my stat points shortly after I started all the spirit ability stuff. In other words, not even close to filling in the abilities. Did I just get stupid lucky or something? This post has been edited by Conquest101: Oct 15 2010, 21:08

Nope. I still have well over 100 of those left to fill in, though they're all elemental, i.e. worthless to me. I just don't get very many artifacts despite having 7/10 on Archaeologist.

No, but was unlucky to cap only after getting 25 AP in waste first (filling all AP's at level 250) This post has been edited by cmdct: Oct 16 2010, 00:16

Crap. Fixing the spell accuracy tracker in STAT is going to be more complicated than I thought. I'm going to need to diagram that shit out to figure out what its doing -- and I'm the one who originally wrote it.

Is there a difficulty that's a good balance between time spent and experience? I'm on "cake" and don't wanna' spend hours on an I.W. trying to level up (my character). I know you get more experience for higher difficulties, so is there a good difficulty level for someone like me?

If you just want experience then take some flimsy piece of armor and run heroic through it.
Although I'm at your level too, and it seems that leveling up currently is boosting monster stats more than my own.

It seems for every level, the amount of experience required is a little too much considering the small amount of improvement my character makes.

The harder the difficulty, the more xp, the less battles you will get through.
That said, only clearing like 10 battles on heroic times your 10(?) IW per day will not come close to the xp you'd gain with 10 easy or cake runs through probably 100+ levels.
It does however take a good bit less time, from my experience I get the most xp per IW run on easy, more than that and it's faster but I get less total xp.
Really your best bet is to find a good balance between time/xp that you want per day, and the only way to do that is to experiment for yourself.

This has been on my mind recently. Should I abandon all hopes of ever getting something useful from trophies? So far I've offered them in categories like Cloth (and One-Handed at times). And I'm thinking of changing to Staffs. Cuz then there's still the off chance I get something useful. But most importantly they're worth more credits. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

No. You can get useful stuff from trophies. About 1/2 the stuff I've auctioned is from trophies and 90% of the stuff I sell in my shop. You just have to realize that trophies are the same as regular drops in that you need to get a shit ton before you can realistically see good returns. 95% of equipment drops are shit and it's the same with trophies.
Staffs give more money true, but at the same time there's a very narrow window of staffs that are actually worth anything. The rare high-quality Katalox staff and Ebony staffs of Destruction and maybe of the Elementalist.

QUOTE(cmdct @ Oct 16 2010, 07:36) And Focus, I want one better (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) To be fair though, not many people understand the value of a good focus staff, and most of those that do, probably don't really need one (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

For low-level mages (of which there are now tons apparently), it provides more benefit than a destruction staff would IMO. Especially considering the way accuracy and MDM scale. This post has been edited by Conquest101: Oct 16 2010, 17:46
