I know that when you update some of the pictures within a collection you posted once, it produces creating of entirely new gallery in fact, and all further requests to it will be redirected to the new copy. The old versions, as I guess, are available only for moderators.
Since such actions as updating only one picture in the gallery causes essentially re-posting the collection, I believe, this is not something you'd do often, many times. Because in that case it'd be kinda spamming by repeatedly posting same things...
So, what is the right period to await before updating gallery a few times, after it got posted?

There used to be a strict limit of twice a month but it has since been abolished so that artist imagesets could update as soon as more content became available (because if it wasn't you'd just have another uploader do it and we'd end up with several versions of the same gallery all at slightly different levels of completeness that can't initiate replace expunges on each other).

As far as I'm aware we never got a new limit to replace it, the twice a month is obviously still fair game, more frequently is supposedly allowed now but if you get to daily updates you'll have people reporting you for spamming bumps and if you update more than once per day (outside of hotfixes if you updated/uploaded a comic or CG our of order or incomplete by accident) those reports will become more likely to result in a gallery lock.

Old versions of updated galleries are still available to everyone through the "Parent" links in the gallery information. Even galleries expunged as Replaced because they're >1 year old and can't be updated are still viewable.

I actually have no idea what's the limit since these two galleries, for example, have been updated almost every day, and even multiple times a day, but nobody seems to have cared.

General rule of thumb is no more than twice per 30 days with a couple of exceptions:
QUOTE
- Any valid additions to artist-specific galleries, ongoing comics / cg sets, or ongoing translation projects. These must be based on what is released by the artist / translator.
- Any changes for fixing an expungeable gallery (e.g. removing forbidden images).

We don't tend to expunge galleries for excessive updates anymore, but will lock them for further updates if the uploader takes the piss.

Could argue these are ongoing so the rule wouldn't apply. Probably a good use of an uploader exclusion slot if it's too annoying.
