Recently I got another phone, but I cannot access the e-hentai site through it.
My other devices (my pc and the old phone) still works with the same wifi and same proxy, while the new device shows connection lost (ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED on chrome).
I tried using google DNS. It works... sometimes, and not for all wifi connections. (Meanwhile other devices does not require this.)
The settings of the new phone is directly transferred from the old one, so I am getting clueless now.
Thanks for any help.

Follow up: I checked the record of the proxy. It seems returning "proxy stream <#> resolve e-hentai.org error =>0.0.0.0“. Wonder what that is and what should I do about it. Still doing research.

Okay I think I broke the case.
Turns out it did not go through the VPN after all (and I need to get through GFW). The site was not listed in the settings to use proxy, and whatever the reason is, rather than using proxy automatically like other devices, it didn't. Either putting it into the proxy list of setting or setting proxy rule to global would solve the problem.

0.0.0.0 indicates your country (likely China) hijacked E-Hentai.org. And looks like your proxy provider has poor practice in writing split tunneling configuration.
