I've been trying to send someone a PM for days and it keeps getting bounced back to me with the error message "You have reached the limit on how many PMs you can send in a 24-hour period." The last PM I sent was on the 20th. I tried deleting my cookies. I tried making an entirely new account and despite being brand new it also had that message. I tried going on a different wi-fi network. How do I fix this?

Is there a limit on how many PMs a lurker can send period? Like I said I'm hitting the 24 hours limit despite not sending a PM for more than 72 hours. And why would that affect an entirely different account?

According to EHWiki:

New users (Lurkers):
- May not post URLs.
- May be required to complete CAPTCHAs in order to post.
- Limited on the number of PMs they can send in a day.
- Limited on the amount of people they can PM in a day.
- Cannot submit forum reports.

You can wait for an extra 24 hours without any actions, if the message still exists, you may just post in the 'General Chats' for some days and upgrade to Recruits to lift the limitation.
