That's like saying the Rothschilds caused the collapse of the British Empire by convincing them that they could larp as a bank.
It was a hot take, but it is true that at the very least the adoption of "based" Christianity didn't prevent Rome's collapse. Literally what happened was:
- Becomes Christian
- Opens borders to immigrants
- Adopts Christianity in 4th century as the state religion
- Collapses
A parallel can be drawn with the Great Awakening in the 1960s and 1970s that coincided with the policies that led to wokeness or were part of the very beginning of wokeness, namely the Civil Rights act, and Executive Order 11246, which MANDATED affirmative action for all big government contractors, that was enacted in 1965, and was only revoked by Trump administration. The "based" Christianity of 1960s didn't prevent that.
If anyone has the time I would advice them to watch this debate:

https://www.bitchute.com/video/RLav8rM6Xue6It's basically Christianity vs paganism, it's a relatively unknown gem, it was a really strong performance from styx and he talked about things I have been thinking about and more. Fuentes, arguing for "based" Catholicism, was forced to rely on Second Vatican council, which is condemned by traditional catholics, and defend the pope, whom many trads think is a heretic. They have said for a long time that there is material heresy going on in the Vatican, and now some say it's a formal heresy. He was forced to defend the pope's immigration stance by saying that well, it's ok because it's not ex cathedra.
I had criticisms of Christianity before, I wouldn't count myself among the Christian far right, but this debate reassured me. The positive influence of Christianity on western civilization really derives mostly, if not entirely, from the pagan elements in western civilization/Christianity that predated Christianity, things like the pagan ideal of nobility, equality among the nobility, struggle to become better. The prohibition of cousin and second cousin marriage was institutionalized by Christian church, but it dates back to I believe Solon.
Not to mention that wokeness is clearly associated with evangelical protestantism, and is essentially a post-Christian, or in many cases Christian, sect.
