I was shocked that the UK has also begun to restrict this type of Internet access. I even heard that the British government is trying to restrict the use of VPNs. For me as a Chinese, this feels like a kind of black humor.
Also this warned me not to use UK VPN services lmao

Do you know why most people don't recognize dystopia? Because it creeps up slowly.. like introducing this law. Common people don't have the slightest idea how controlling and dangerous this law can become. By the time people actually realize, it will be too late.

Sites not hosted in the UK can safely give OFCOM the finger. Their claimed authority to fine foreigners for not following their bullshit rules is nonexistent outside British territory.

If EH is registered in USA, you may want to pay attention to an ongoing lawsuit where in essence Kiwi Farms and 4chan are suing UK.

I think it's prudent to remind bongs of their place.

In a recent US supreme court case of Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton, the court ruled in favour of age verification methods & ruled against free speech. [www.eff.org] https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2025/06/today...-and-undermines
If that's any indication of future court decisions, I am afraid it's not going to get any positive ruling towards 4chan or kiwifarms. :(

This is a pirate site, why are you complying with these asinine age verification laws when you're already breaking other laws?

Bongs won't go after the site directly, they will instead dig their pale, inbred, slimy paws into host, datacenter, collocation, anything that has a branch in UK as well as in the country the offending website is registered in. Then corporations will just bend the knee as always. In fact, britbongs are so repulsive in their entirety, that Obama's administration - yes, the progressive, hip, democrat Obama! - couldn't stand perfidious albion's totalitarian abuse of the international prosecution process, and drafted the SPEECH Act to essentially tell them to fuck off back to their shitty isles with "hate speech" lawsuits.

as the UK is demanding age verification just to access porn, i believe that it is a matter of time before some secret groups relevant to surveillance go after E-H directly. which instead of debating on if we should add age verification here, we need a serious discussion on how to make sure at least the entire database here remains intact, and perhaps third-party websites mirroring E-H while providing resources back to here will help.
