So I've heard the webp format is better for a smaller filesize and that's exactly what i want to do.
I want to convert in batches a lot of files i have downloaded using Irfanview.
So my question is what settings are the best for both keeping a small size and keep it at a good quality.

Irfanview is a good viewer but for convertions is based on wonky plugins and its batch dialog box is kinda confusing imho. I recommend you using XnConvert, which is portable, much more intuitive and it also allows you to save presets

[portableapps.com] https://portableapps.com/apps/graphics_pict...onvert-portable

The only thing you should not forget is to clean the input after processing each new batch

As the sizes of the images of each doujin usually vary, I usually use different presets according to the resolutions of each folder

Here are my presets:

Just use the official utilities, the defaults will be good enough, or pass -lossless if you want to keep the quality the same with (probably) a smaller file size. [developers.google.com] https://developers.google.com/speed/webp/do...ecompiled?hl=en

This. Do not be afraid what you probably know as "console" or "command line"

And, by the way, you should probably skip webp and go straight to jxl. Not only it is great, but If what you got are jpg, it can losslessly compress them and you will get 25% more disk space for free. And, unless, you pass and advanced flag, it can also restore it back to jpg. And we are not talking pixel perfect restoration here. We are talking file hash perfect.
