I've seen this topic appear many times in the past, but since 2010, the website made plenty of changes that could still incorporate what many other websites do. You may assume that the answer is, "Well then use those." Here's how it directly impacts e-hentai.
When specific fetishes are overrun with a trend, it becomes difficult to sift through and past the low effort and low quality fetish trends. These could easily be ignored, but for every wannabe uploader that repackages low effort and low quality, you are left with many people to add to your blocked list.
Blacklisting tags can easily solve this. Better yet, a quick view option for higher level accounts to temporarily disable them. This allows you to see the list as it would normally appear, then you can re-enable your filter list. This adds to the existing framework of incentive posting. I won't name tags I would rather blacklist, but anyone who has been around long enough knows when they see trends polluting their favorite genres.
Another thing is that people who can't tolerate these tags won't be bothered to tag them in the first place, rank, upload, and so forth. Not being able to blacklist them discourages participation.
