Could the rename pop-up close automatically after submitting, like the expunge pop-up? I forgot to ask before the update. I mean, like the expunge petition, once I press submit I'm usually done.

Changes for private galleries and deletions

- To combat certain forms of abuse that's been taking place recently, there are now some requirements to make a private gallery. Unless you meet one of the following conditions, all future galleries have to be assigned to a public category. You must either:
-- have a Bronze star or higher, or
-- have at least 100 posts on the forums, outside of FSZ/Spamhaus/Test

Meaning that anyone who wants to use the gallery system to post images on the forums, but isn't allowed to create a private gallery, has to make a public one and remember never to publish it. Not that many people use the galleries for that AFAIK.

This does not affect existing galleries, unless you modify them.

Such images are shown as thumbnails in the messages (unless they are already smaller than a typical thumbnail, or you cheat), and I don't think you can use them inside sigs. That's not a problem of mine though (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

You can't use images posted in the galleries in your sig either, it breaks the forums, I know, I did it.

Being a below-100-post user, like me, I think where (and how) to make countable posts is probably more important than that list or its contents. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
(In fact, I'm not concerned about the criteria at all, because private galleries are quite no use for me (by now).)

Reference to this reason, I think denying to delete isn't an appropriated solution because it has wide-ranging effects. The simple way to avoid recycling misc galleries is just to make them non-reusable!! , isn't it? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
I suggest, in detail, changing "misc limit" to "misc point", which has one-time usage, and making Misc Posting Training maximum level unlimited, for example.

There remains one. When a valid gallery is suddenly not acceptable, like the Porn Purge or the OneManga collapse triggering a ban/purge on licensed scanlations. I believe I have sent 3 people to temp uploading bans on the second one in the last 2 days, and more regular uploaders will get caught in the days to come, now that they cannot self-delete/Privatize suddenly unacceptable galleries.

In the case of the porn purge, a special expunge category was added for that. As for the issue of licensed manga, just report it or post it in the prohibited thread, and I'll take care of it.
