I don't give a shit about all the culture war drama, but the new update made even the old Borderlands games total spyware. No way am I ever installing those again on any machine I own, so I was effectively scammed of my money. Plebbitors saying shit like "every game does this" are just part of the problem. No, not every game does this. None of the games I play do this. If you're a braindead NPC consoomer who can't resist the temptation of installing every Sony movie game regardless of their EULAs and attached spyware then yeah, you're already being spied upon. But retroactively adding this spyware bullshit to old games that didn't have it at the time of purchase is still not acceptable.
On top of that Borderlands 2 is so buggy you NEED to mod it to play at a framerate higher than 60fps without getting stuck on random bits of the environment, so enjoy getting banned for "exploits" like FIXING THE FUCKING GAME.
As for "how to play the games safely?": Just pirate an older version. Or play something else. They're not that great anyway.
seems my character zer0 wasn't just stubbing his tow on everything, i really do need mods to make it so i can walk over the terrain.
also in this reply is my review: its fun, its got story, its got both good and bad rng rolls (good like enemies will spawn with higher stats to really challenge me, bad rng rolls where i ended up with too many weird parts to my weapons that make no sense like the iron sight snipers). verdict: I really should have played it earlier in life when I first bought it rather than wait on friends to also want to join a session.
oh and the character i chose happens to speak in haiku, this is something I've only ever seen once before: gruntilda in the japanese release of banjo kazooie
