Multiple sources suggest that the remastered version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will release next week. Leaked images and references from developer Virtuos' website show updated graphics and promotional materials. A support agent from Xbox also confirmed the remaster is set for release on April 21, 2025.
The remaster is expected to be a "shadow drop," launching without prior official announcement. It will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, with day-one availability on Xbox Game Pass. Development is handled by Virtuos, known for their work on other remakes.
Although Bethesda hasn't officially confirmed the remaster, the evidence points to an imminent release.
What do you think? Do you believe the leaks are true? Could they shadowdrop it like Ninja Gaiden 2?
Would be quite something if they randomly dropped this release out of nowehere, especially with how well known the game was. Curious to give it a shot if true though
I still have a ~handful selected~ modded Skyrim ... since a year or so. Unplayed. Eh, I mean, I have played it years ago already, of course. But a second playthrough is still awaiting. sigh
Anyway, I am looking forward for a remastered Oblivion. But I wonder if mods will still work with it. And if not, how fast and how many mods people will publish. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
from what ive seen its better than i would have expected from bethesda, probably had to actually put some effort into it because of Skyblivion. I will wait for that to release anyway, i think it looks better and i expect it to be better in general too.
And apparently some statues haven been changed. Looks more brave now. But you could also argue the new statue fits better since it's Queen Alessia, the first Empress of Cyrodiil.

Its because Bethesda were not the main devs all they did was have one old staffer to explain the engine and then sensitivity consultants.Allegedly Bethesda helped where they re-recorded voice lines with the original cast.
There is a flood of Skooma memes.

I think by default the Oblivion remaster has potentially better graphics than Skyrim, though the performance is pretty poorly optimized when you max out the settings for the remaster. So for the average gamer skyblivion might look better.
