**BEFORE ANY ADVERSE REACTIONS!!!** Let me get this straight—yes, I use AI to fap, but why am I here, perhaps? Here are the objectives before I destroy some work and cause mayhem!! 1. I only target Mother Tags, nothing else. I'm not really worse than the others here. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) 2. I'm training my AI for a wide range of commercial problems. I create it from scratch, so naturally, I let it tackle real-world challenges. 3. My server costs money, so before my next billing cycle, I want to make progress on my project. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) 4. If I translate something, I'll be posting it here for reference. I want feedback—so if people don't give me any, I'll upload the work directly. Sorry, guys, but I'm holding it hostage. I'LL BE POSTING WORK LINKS BELOW CAUSE I HOPE SOMEONE, A REAL TRANSLATOR, PICKS IT UP!!

Going by the title I assume you are seeking rules clarification. Popularity of it aside, Machine/AI translated works are allowed to be uploaded here. If you do, you should make sure to in the gallery upload manager select the gallery language, select translated, and to not click the checkbox that says it was done by a proficient translator. This will automatically tag the work with translated + rough translation. Edit: So it should look like this This post has been edited by Shank: Apr 2 2025, 13:41

I've already uploaded two, and I made sure not to click the "Real Translator" option. But first, I'll follow the suggestions people gave me—maybe it'll give them peace of mind. If this isn't constructive, I'll proceed with uploading. This is the help I can offer them!

Posting any TLs, including MTLs, drastically decreases the chances of that happening. QUOTE(broad hare @ Apr 2 2025, 13:36) I want feedback
I don't think you do, considering your reactions to it here. This post has been edited by Scumbini: Apr 2 2025, 14:07

Would you say you've ever had the urge to "roll out" before?

Or machine translations. Take it from me as somebody who's done this shit before. It's best to keep this shit to yourself. Meaning, do your AI translations if you want, but don't upload them. They should be used for your own personal enjoyment and no one else's.

No, I'm not doing that. "AI-Generated Gallerie’s" is uploaded, but "A.I Translated" is not. That's quite off. Even if they call it a spade or whatever, I'm still going to upload it—not in galleries, but as links here. However, I'll run it through here first in hopes that an MTL'er, translator, typesetter, or cleaner can use it as a reference. If they pick it up, they can check here first before any massacre is done. I want fast releases, though—also, this is me engaging in dialogue before I upload it, in case no one picks it up. No editor is ever going to want to work on pages that have been smeared and blended to shit by clueless automated AI cleaning. No translator ever wants to take an MTLd script and "clean it up." Any "fixing" of automated "AI" translations starts with throwing out everything the machine did, no exceptions. There's literally nothing worth salvaging. Posting an MTL publicly is literally worse than useless, the only people it pleases are the uploader and a small contingent of people who are happy to read the rambling nonsense because "it's better than nothing™" and both groups usually don't have the best command of, well, any language, let alone the one that the work is being MTLd into. But you do you, I think we both know you're not going to stop. You haven't yet after all. This post has been edited by Scumbini: Apr 2 2025, 19:19

Trust me, A.I. is getting better nowadays, just like this one: [ toriitranslate.com] https://toriitranslate.com/. It will only continue to improve from here. As for the bad smearing and blending, it's called inpainting, and that, too, is being updated. Detectors won’t stay the same either. Also, I never said you had to fix the damn thing. What does "reference" mean to you? This post has been edited by broad hare: Apr 2 2025, 19:38

Taking an AI script and going through it to check and correct is just translating with extra steps. If you want to work with a translator then this is not how to go about it. If you just want fast releases with no regard for quality or accuracy then you're no different to any of the dozens of other people who come in to spam poorly typeset and completely unproofed dreck into the galleries. If you actually want to make an effort, there's things you can do that have been pointed out already. You'll never be able to tell if the translation is accurate because you don't know the language, but you can at least sanity check the output and go through and reword some of the clunkier phrases. If your script is going to be wrong, at least make it read nicely. And while AI tools can help somewhat with editing there's still really a need to manually go through and make sure that the text has been placed properly. Also, using appropriate fonts goes way, way further towards making a good reading experience than I think most non-scanlators appreciate. AI is already at the level where it can do a mostly passable job of very basic shounen type stuff, where the bubbles are simple and the speech predictable. Porn is actually pretty hard from a translation perspective - there's lots of innuendo, slang and words that the author just made up for shits and gigs. There's moans everywhere that may or may not be in any normal dictionary. There is often handwritten text that doesn't OCR well. If you want to train your AI, hentai is not a very good place to start. Get it working on mainstream stuff and then move up to ecchi and hentai. If you just want to read the porn, then you don't need to post. If you As for the "I'm encouraging people to translate it" idea, almost every translator I know will avoid something that is already translated even if it's bad. The exceptions are a series or book that they were already working on or have a strong attachment to, in which case they were going to do it anyway. But I've absolutely dropped stuff halfway through because someone else released and I couldn't be bothered finishing. The thought that a bad translation will want to make translators correct your awful version just means you've never spoken to a translator. We don't give two tugs of a dead dogs cock that your bad translation makes you look bad - that's on you. It sucks when a good book gets a bad translation, but in 2025 there are so many good untranslated books out there that it's not really an issue. This isn't 2010 when people are scrapping over the few high profile releases each Comiket, my to do list is a couple thousand books long and grows by a hundred or so a year. All you do by putting out MTL is ensuring that people will work on something else. Which is why I would prefer that MTL tools be accessible for people to use themselves. I understand the desire to have some idea of what the story is if you can't read the language, and people have been using OCR and Google Translate to satiate that hunger for more than a decade. But I think using the tools to read for yourself and still leaving the book untranslated for a "real" translation to come out is the better option. Technically, anyone can use Google Lens or Torii or Cotrans or any of a bunch of other options to read if they want to. When people go looking for a translation, they would probably prefer that it's at least a reasonable attempt at an accurate representation of the story. We're all amateurs here and so some translations won't be the best, but at least someone with knowledge of the language made an honest effort. But that's just my opinion as someone who has been doing this (with the support of computer tools, I might add) for a very long time. Every translator uses some equivalents of Denshi Jisho, Space Alc and Google Translate/DeepL, and these days some will even use AI OCR to rip the script beforehand. It's just that they're using those tools to support the language knowledge that they already have and so can recognise when those tools are helpful and appropriate and when the computer is just making some shit up. You do what you want, but consider what it is that you actually want to achieve. Is it making a better AI tool for translators and editors? Is it "translating" a bunch of books that would otherwise probably never get touched, even though the quality might be substandard? Or is it propping up your own ego and telling yourself that the "haters" just don't understand why an inaccurate translation and terrible typesetting is just fine, akshually? I hope your intentions are good, but we've seen a lot of people through here who definitely wanted to ride the AI trend to be "translators" without actually doing any work or having to learn any skills. That's why you get immediate pushback, and if you're not one of those then you'll kind of have to demonstrate that to people by showing that you at least care enough about quality to proofread your own stuff and fix obvious errors. That might be unfair, but that's the history of what's come before you.

It’s already mainstream—maybe the manga you’ve been reading was translated by my bot. That’s why I focus on translating hentai manga: to tackle the challenges of moaning and censorship (which ChatGPT can’t properly reproduce, even with more tokens or longer generation times—and I don’t use ChatGPT, only uncensored models) in the gap between AI and human interpretation, while also choosing an extreme genre that I personally enjoy. Here you can shit on this too https://e-hentai.org/g/3352317/adf36303e9/?p=1 the earliest of my uploads Also, I’d rather keep my manga website a secret… it kind of funds me online.
