Good question, I usually regard religion and god the same thing.

We all know that religion is a scam. And God does not exist. Here is the proof.... [ www.godisimaginary.com] https://www.godisimaginary.com/

Somebody's actions leading to the creation of the universe? Sure why not. It wouldn't matter anyway.
But an almighty, benevolent existence as is described in many religious texts doesn't mesh well with our worlds reality therefore nope.

I believe in a higher power , that we were made by a greater being. Do I believe the bible word for word, no, but believe human and animal kind are too unique to be a product of evolution or some catalyst that started life.

God doesn't exist, although if God did exist, they would be evil.

Two cents on this topic: I do believe it's a matter of self security over just faith. Religion to be is one's way of rationalising the world when it's full of unknowns. So if one doesn't necessarily believe in a religion, especially if it didn't help me rationalise the world, doesn't mean you can't follow it as a form of guidance. That's where I stand, I follow the common Christian values but not necessarily believe or have faith in it.

Yes, I believe in God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. A couple of years ago in my darkest hour, I called out for help and received mercy and salvation. Before that I had considered myself a believer I guess, but realized I never truly gave myself completely or practiced anything but sin and hate. By opening my mind and taking that leap of faith, I became a true Christian. The anger and rage was taken from my heart and I count my blessings every day.
When I was suffering in sorrow and feeling completely lost, by chance in the early mornings I would see a show called Amazing Facts. I thought at first it was some history type thing and turned to it but rolled my eyes when it was a religious show. When this kept happening, I finally gave in and watched it. Pastor Doug isn't the typical crazy Bible thumper at all, he reminds me of a mild mannered high school teacher and by watching his show every morning, he's taught me about the Bible and it's actually quite awesome. He's got a really interesting personal story of how he came to be saved and he's got a good sense of humor, too. The half hour shows are on TV and the hour long shows are on YouTube. If anyone is ever in need, I can tell you through experience that the Lord Jesus is always there ready to welcome you.

Coming from someone raised and still is Catholic myself, I'd say my personal situation's a bit more complex than the average believer.
Yes, I do believe in God, but I also believe that He doesn't fuck with any of the LARPers you see talking about him. This isn't a serious debate topic though so I won't get too into that.
But most times His presence is just lost on me. Or rather, it's like having your actual father around. He's around the house, yeah, but you don't really feel his presence unless you were in the room with him right now. That's how I feel towards God. He's always there, everywhere, yeah, but I just don't feel it unless I'm at church. (Hence why I still consume porn like any other piece of media in my secret downtime, kek.)
People are free to believe whatever religion they believe in, after all in my opinion at least religion is like humanity's coping mechanism before we even knew what a coping mechanism was. I believe in God, some others don't, and for reasons that I myself can understand. Belief is a much more complex thing than we could probably imagine. It shows in literally just how much strife there's been amongst people ever since the asscrack of language went from ooga booga to the earliest stage of latin and maybe even before that.

Had weird shit happen to me that I think would be dishonest to say there isn't some sort of, I guess "admin" or "guardian" watching over reality at some level. Not, "Oh I was lucky to be alive" weird, I mean "That burning bush is talking to me and I wrestled a man made of bronze in the woods" weird. No, don't do drugs, especially not after that.
I will say I think reincarnation is it, not because of belief but because of logic. You can't perceive your state of being dead, only when you are alive. So if you die, you can only logically "skip" to when you are properly alive again, likely due to random chance of a body that can have your consciousness. Probably without the memories though. Yeah, sounds shitty, but ain't that life?

QUOTE(WarpedJ @ Feb 12 2025, 10:33) Yes, I believe.
One of God's gifts to us is 'FREE will'.
We're all free to do good or bad (or evil), Free to follow or deny Him, etc.
But do you have free will? Your only choice is to believe in the magic man in the sky, Because if you dont follow GOD you're burning in hell for 1000 years. Not much of a choice? God has a plan, for each and everyone. But how can you have a plan if the person has free will and changes the plan? If everything I do good or bad is part of gods plan for me, I'm doomed from the start, because that was golds "plan". The plan only works if you actually know what the plan is. Gods "plan" for many of us is to go to hell. Christians always say "God Gave his only "begotten" son" Humm but did he really? So he got crucified for threatening the Roman Authority, not religious reasons. His body was put in a tomb for 3 days, then god went and got him and brought him back home! So GOD did not give his son or sacrifice his son. He was dead for all of 3 days god brought him back to life and took him home. God didnt give up anything. So that story line is bullshit. The virgin Marry.... So supposedly she got preggo without having sex. Called the immaculate inception!! We humans call that invetro fertilization and do it every day. So that story is bullshit. The all seeing, all knowing creator of everything couldnt even create a few loyal angels so it seems. If it wasnt for 1 bad angel everything would be right in the world, supposedly. He cant even keep his own house in order, how does he expect us to do it?

QUOTE(Chaos Dragon Apostle @ Feb 24 2025, 14:31) The way I see it, either I'm right and am saved from death, or wrong and nothing changes.
I lose nothing choosing to believe either way.
Christianity is unique in that it is the only religion where God chooses to redeem you from Sin, rather than judge through your works and character.
If you are wrong, you go to go to hell for 1000 years fire and brimstone. You should read the bible more if you think nothing changes if you miss the star ship. If it were that easy no one would believe.
