Unironically, it has to be Royal Space Force: Wings of Honneamise. Its probably the most emotional film to me in its message, and whenever I need a pick me up, I always watch it.

Macross DYRL makes me cry considering the hard work that went into it, somehow I always think about all the dead Otaku who are no longer with us.

This was like my comfort anime, since I was going through a rough time when it came out. Watching it every Saturday was the only thing I looked forward to, and it helped me overcome some stuff in real life.

I get very emotional when I watch this . Happy with season 2 , Looking forward for season 3 .

It hits hard.
Different kind of heartbreaks 💔

The most recent is Dandadan, after having my own kids that final ballet leap off the top off the building as a final helpless goodbye to this hopeless world felt all too real.

Though the one that really made me cry like a baby will always be Ascendence of a Bookworm, Arc 2, 4 and 5. Cried when I read the novel, then again when I read the manga, then again when the anime aired.

While I didn' cry, I did find the ending of "Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day" pretty moving

Gintama

Kuroko no Basket. Not directly as a result of one of the episodes, but more so because I was in a really rough spot when I finally decided to watch it. When I finished it, I realized I was head over heels for Midorima (who was the last character I even expected to like because my type is usually blond blue eyed pretty boys) and then the waterworks overflowed. Very in love with him.

As for the last anime that made me cry directly, Sugar Sugar Rune. Watched it in 2021 and my tear ducts were sapped dry near and during the end.

Slime Taoshite 300-nen season 2, there was a very emotional scene with Azusa's daughters that it was so cute it made me tear up

'Grave of the Fireflies'. I had heard it was depressing, they weren't kidding. I could only watch it once.

Hasn't happened in years.

Last one might be Hanasaku Iroha: Home Sweet Home.
