What's going on with gallery thumbnails?, They're not loading in Firefox but do load in Chrome and Edge. |

QUOTE(Marien @ Nov 6 2024, 08:02) I was able to port everything from Firefox to it but Greasemonkey wasn't working, so I had to give up on my favorite scripts, E-H Highlighter and Archive Window positioning.
There's a [ github.com] Greasemonkey fork for Pale Moon, that might help.

For future reference, Pale Moon has their own [ addons.palemoon.org] add-on page. Combine that with [ github.com] Classic Add-on Archive and you should have everything pre-XUL phaseout Firefox had and maybe a little more.

I used Pale Moon's built-in add-on search for Greasemonkey and the only thing that showed up was Guerilla Scripting. And I couldn't figure out how to add new scripts to it, assuming it even does the same thing.
I'm completely migrated over to it now though. Have everything I had in Firefox and then some, because now I have a better browser than Chrome for certain other sites I couldn't mess with in Firefox.

I'm curious for what reason people are running mega outdated browsers for, but just throwing another idea you could like uuh run mitmproxy that converts webp to jpeg on the fly or something and keep using your netscape navigator idk Oh hey look what I found [ github.com] https://github.com/atauenis/weboneThis post has been edited by FabulousCupcake: Nov 18 2024, 02:26

Because new versions of browsers love breaking things. Like extremely useful addons for mass downloading. Or in the near future, adblock. Can't wait to see who'll be defending Google for that one. Also, different browsers for different purposes. I used an outdated Firefox like a trusty old scythe to harvest smut on a handful of crops. I mean websites. While my other, up to date browsers are for general use and shopping.

its not as older image formats which widely accept by most system, you had to went and figure out a few extra steps just to view or work with an image file, not to mention some of them looks darker than thumbnail
no one likes webp, be honest to yourself, we all were forced to accept it

QUOTE(Necromusume @ Nov 8 2024, 12:20) Did you notice? The tiled thumbnails now come from the hath servers instead of from the mothership. [ praogxqcch.hath.network] https://praogxqcch.hath.network/c2/0jrke1e2.../3105020-0.webpThat change was made about two months ago. It's just now that all thumbnails (instead of only small ones) are tiled. QUOTE(Tenboro @ Jan 12 2021, 20:33) 2024-08-17
- Switched to a new set of servers for small thumbnails, with some changes to how they are served.

QUOTE(Marien @ Nov 5 2024, 05:26) OH GODDAMNIT! It's not just thumbnails, but gallery images are .webp now too? WTF? That is just plain shitty. How many measly kilobytes of data could trying to streamline webp possibly save in bandwidth? Abandoning the most tried and true, widely compatible file format for this wannabe new era garbage is not an upgrade by any stretch of the imagination. I expect this type of forced obsolescence from tech companies, not a hentai site.
This. I realize that support of transparency or animation are advantages, but are they needed? There is absolutely nothing wrong with a format being "ancient". If anything it's an advantage. Wood is "ancient", we still use it.

I have a different question about the gallery thumbnails. Suddenly since just a few days ago, e-hentai shows the galleries with FIVE thumbnails per line; in the past it's always been 10 per line, and 10 per line is what I want. I've been to the settings page, explicitly set the thumbnail size to Small, and applied that, but galleries for an image set still show 5 large images per line. How do I get the galleries to show 10 thumbnails per line? Thank you.

With small thumbnails, I get between 5 and 10 depending on how wide the window is.

You didn't link the gallery, but it's possible it's a legacy gallery that didn't have small thumbnails generated for it. The new system always generates both sets of thumbnails before the gallery becomes publicly visible, but the old system worked differently.

I got the same issue the recent content can only show 1 row with 5 pictures, 4 rows total 20 pic per page but when I search some old content, still can show 1 row with 10 pictures, total 40 pic per page

Did you change the setting to your preferred thumbnail size, as described on the news page? QUOTE(Tenboro @ Jan 12 2021, 13:33) - 200x300 thumbnails are now used by default for galleries with v2 image handling. If you prefer the old default of 100x150 thumbnails, you can change to these from the settings page.

I LOVE webp. I wrote several scripts to convert ALL my downloaded images into webp. And I have been doing this for YEARS. Bite me!
