Resample Archive Download is in webp instead of jpeg or png as original.
Resample download as 1280x.

As far as I can see, it's happened to gallery that is in png but have credit page in webp. Maybe that's why this happened.
Is this a bug or will it be like this for permanent?

I usually download in resample to save space but this webp make it unreadable in my reader.

You would have found one of the test galleries, there are a few of them now.

This is part of the image v2 upgrades, as part of those all new image that are uploaded will be resampled as webp. So yes, in the not too distant future this will be permanent.

You'll need to upgrade your reader to support them or download originals and hope that they were not uploaded in webp.

Alternatively, you can use IrfanView to batch rename and/or convert image files to another format, quality, color, resolution, etc.

I always download the original archive. That means I get the original format right?

Yeah you get whatever image format the uploader uploaded. That means they can still upload in webp and you get webp downloads, but most people just upload in the given format so I can't imagine it'll be very common

in your examples i can see that webp looks better. clearly.

Even in that one, I'm just seeing considerably more artefacts on the jpg, and jpg looks worse both zoomed in and not. Are you mixing up which one is jpg and which one is webp?

On 1280x you have to zoom in to see much of a difference in most cases anyway, but the webp is a lot smaller.
The 800x resolution is where the quality gains are massive while the file size remains about the same.
