Why are there no FATHER or SON tags for Males?
We have mother, daughter, brother, sister, but not these tags.

The rules/combinations just seem odd is all.

Bringing up this discussion again because I also found odd that you can't search for male:father along with female:daughter, and the answers given above don't actually feel like they resolve it?

As someone above said, you would think that searching for female:daughter would presume a father.

...Except father-in-law, stepfathers, grandfather, futa moms, regular moms, and some other options all also come up with female:daughter. The daughter tag is EXTREMELY loose.

There's all kinds of weird solutions in the forum each time this topic comes up like saying to search for daughter with -yuri. So... can't find stories where a dad/mom together sleep with daughter, and FIL/Stepdads/Grandpas still pop up. Could you not search for son + yaoi, or father+yaoi, or father+son if you wanted that? That's the same excuse given for daughter not having father tags, because you can filter it out with -yuri (except it clearly doesn't).

And there's no way to filter out father-in-laws/stepdads because there's no way to get that degree of searching without creating new tags? The father tag just exists right now. It's just weirdly being limited? And not even consistently at that.

There are a few galleries where male:father comes up for daughters, but generally seems to be only for father+son. In many galleries, male:father is actually downvoted significantly because of this really weird specification that the tag should be for yaoi only.

Yes, most galleries are heterosexual, or straight up yuri/yaoi, so perhaps earlier on it made sense, but there's clearly a huge amount of father-in-law, stepfather, grandfather, futa moms, regular moms that also come up in these searches, or it wouldn't be a topic that comes up over and over again?

Is the sole actual reason just that people that want yaoi incest stories don't want to search for multiple terms and want to be able to search for a single tag? Cause that still precludes uncle/nephew stories for them if they search for just the father tag?

What exactly do you, specifically, want to search for or exclude that cannot be found using current tags and tag definitions?

Regarding don't we use male family tags outside of yaoi, principles where somehwat different when those tags were created 15 or so years ago. Quite possibly if they were created now it would be done differently, but now that they've been around for so long it's not worth the effort.
