Like every phone gacha it is just not enough of game.
They are always waifu gambling simulators first and gameplay comes last.

While counter strike has skins, but we liked that gameplay loop from like 2003 to now. Nearly nothing has changed except updated graphics and the skins.

Basically I want to see gacha game with the GAME part actually being there. Like imagine kingdom come 2 reskined to genshing graphics with waifu companions. It would be game of the year instantly.

It's a decent game if you're not put off by the gacha and repetitive gameplay and the character designs are especially interesting for reasons I'm sure all the cultured folk here are aware of.

mobile gaming is such an obscene waste of time, it feels like a job rather than entertainment.

At first, it was quite novel. But gradually, it became too time-consuming. To obtain the desired character, one needs to invest an excessive amount of time, and moreover, the rewards are too few. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif)

exploring is too monotonous and takes too much time. Some people like exploring though but it's just not my type of game.

very boring for me I have been playing since 1.0 and even before that when there was early testing I do still play but it is not fun in any way anymore

From an outsider's perspective, it looks okay in terms of gameplay. I'm not much of a fan of what it's aping on to begin with though but it gets at least some points for being active instead of yet another turn based / tower defense affair.

From testimonials of people who play MiHoYo games, it sounds like the gacha portion / pull rates are especially egregious which put me off from ever trying it (alongside not trusting whatever anticheat is probably bundled in).

As it stands I ultimately appreciate it more for the amount of ero vids and drawings it has inspired. Now that I think it, that applies to quite a few gacha titles lol

Heads up, Genshin is about to have it's annual big update and this will be the 2nd year where they give out a "standard" 5-star character for free. Unfortunately I just barely missed last year's anniversary so I'm a year late to join.

I recall learning about the free character here in 2024, but I can't find the thread anymore. Does anyone know where it went?

I haven't played any popular F2P or live service game before, so my knowledge of gacha games is very limited. Beware, F2P games are generally the most greedy, evil, and expensive games there are.

At the same time, this website is a similar type of game, so us here shouldn't rule Genshin out. The money structure is balanced differently from this website. You have to spend 100x more real money on Genshin than here to get anything significant, so therefore I'd recommend trying to be F2P. Unfortunately, Genshin makes sure you are going to be very underpowered and starving if you stay F2P. It's even worse if you are a new F2P who has joined late.

There is a sort of middle tier of money payment if you can figure out what it is, maybe that could be a workable option for some.

I think Genshin is best for players who meet the following criteria:

1) There are just one or two girls you know of from Genshin that you really like, and you are curious to play it because of them.
2) You can resist all the other girls so you don't waste your money.
3) You don't care if you are far from full power, can never reach full power, and certain activities and challenges may forever be beyond your ability since you do not want to Pay To Win.
4) You want to just try the game casually and are willing to abandon it if you ever decide it is too grindy, boring, or greedy.

Both genshin and hsr feel borring after 2 years. The gameplay loops is just watching animations over and over again with minimal interactions.
