Never went to college.

Never got in debt.

Got kicked out of high school and instead of deluding myself into thinking I was exceptional I picked up some tools and did an automotive apprenticeship.

Never had a problem finding a job.

Still got my tools and could get work fixing cars next week because most of the old school mechanics have retired and the kids today don't know what to do without a computer.

My main regret is not wearing safety gear.

Always wear safety gear.

The problem as well is that dealerships no longer train mechanics they just pay them peanuts. So the mechanics retiring is a big problem. The dealer for my car can't service my car anymore because the last TRD guy retired.

A buddy of mine works at a pretty standard IT company where he's tasked to "bring the new employees up to speed". He tells me the younger ones show him different scripts and shit to get feedback and when he asks basic questions like "why is this if-statement here? the most common asnwer is "I don't know, that's how it came out". Meaning ChatGPT wrote it and they don't know why or how it works. They couldn't fix it if it broke.
IT is going to experience a same type of "skilled professionals retiring" in a few decades that has been happening to trades since the early 2000s. It's already happening to some extent. All those computer wizards from the 80s who actually had to care about things like memory usage or optimization are retiring already.

College is for indoctrinating new libtards. Intersection socialists and feminists who secretly want a Ultra Capitalist CCP like regime to tell them what to do or think, or else. It's the most expensive and ineffective adult daycare center. There's corn fed hicks who served in the military and became more worldly than these "higher learning" idiots with their degrees in their echo chambers, hug boxes as the play strive to be victims in their sheltered lives.

When you start working, you realize that both school and work are boring.

When you have a job, you will miss your college life.

In a lot of ways College felt like an extension to High School, i made so many friends and enjoyed it so much, now years later i miss it
