In single player games, it's only your time and your enjoyment that will be affected by you cheating and it is up to the individual to determine whether or not they cheat and to what extent if they were to do so

I'll cheat if I want to in anything, even multiplayer games, and even if it makes other people disapprove. Especially if the cheating is just visual, like to have smaller boobs or have unusual/stolen character appearances.

However most of the time I won't cheat if it gives me a competitive advantage, even in single player games. Or I may play some of the game without cheating, and some with cheating for ease and firepower coolness. In some games they'll give you cheating-like options if you clear the game once anyway.

I'm not a fan of it, unless it is those funny cheats like big head mode.

One of my favorite things to do in Bully is to get all weapons, get unlimited ammo, mine the entrance to the boys dorm with marbles, pull the fire alarm and start throwing the rubberband ball.

Some people believe that even single player games should not cheat, while others believe that games only need to be happy. What is your opinion?
(To be honest, sometimes I even cheat in H games.)

Grinding is cringe, cheating to skip it is based.

Unskippable cutscenes are cringe, cheating to skip it is based.

Selling power in the form of DLC and preorder bonuses is cringe, pirating the game with all its DLC and preorder bonuses is based.

People only get mad at cheaters if they're mad the cheaters didn't also have to endure shit parts of the game. Like a prisoner mad another prisoner doesn't get beaten by the guards as often. If you truly love something you won't be mad that someone was allowed to skip some of the content, you'll feel bad for them because they missed out on something good. It's the difference between hating someone for skipping the grind in World of Warcraft and feeling bad for someone who skipped scenes in the Lord Of The Rings movies.

I mainly only get annoyed at cheaters in multiplayer as it ruins a lot of games and experience.

It was funny for one game where for one tournament a bunch of the other top players were later caught cheating and disqualified so I technically was no.1 in the world. That was a long time ago, and my main take away would be that playing that much to get that good makes it no longer fun.

So in single player if you are not hurting anyone else's experience then its not really a problem. I do think it can get in the way of learning to get better in some games and can create a mentality that might lead to cheating in multiplayer though. Back when I was gaming more, talking to some younger players, they thought everyone that was any good was cheating.

Games that are designed around a purposefully annoying grind are still shit even if you skip the grind.

Grind isn't inherently bad, if it's paced to be engaging and give a constant sense of progress. It's bad when it's intentionally designed to be boring to coax you into buying power to skip it. But skipping it is equally pointless, because now you're just skipping playing the game to... do what exactly?

Video games are pointless by design. They are artificial problems we choose to engage with to have something to do. If you wanted to avoid dealing with the problems, you could just not play the game. So what is the point of choosing to play a game, then skipping the game? Part of the appeal of beating a game is that it isn't instant but that it took some time or work to achieve.

That's why "just don't buy them" or "just skip past them" isn't a solution for microtransaction garbage. The only solution is to play something else. Something better.

If you've already played it through legit and gotten your mileage out, rolling out some cheats can extend the experience with doing things you couldn't on initial playthroughs. I've played Deus Ex plenty of times and the 50 billion spent to create him makes a lot more sense when he has all his skills set to max levels, is near invincible and can kill people instantly and explode them without attacking them physically.

It depends on if you are cheating for simple enjoyment, or trying to cheat the achievement’s / trophies / leaderboards.

I think legally some platforms do not allow users to change the application or it can be considered violation of end user agreement.
Morally I don’t see any problems with that as long as it’s not done illegally… of course different people have different preferences, some enjoy challenges and entertained by difficulty balance in games as a whole, while some enjoy more as ‘playing God’ in the game, or avoid tedious grinding. So I think it’s not ok to force others to cheat or not cheat based one’s own preferences.
Personally I am a curious person, so I do like to ‘break things apart’ (legally), for example using memory alternating tools, or modifying static save files to see if the game can be altered.

Small-dicked little bitches HATE cheating in single-player RPGs because they feel like "grinding separates the men from the babies" because grinding is all they are capable of.

Go on any Pokemon forum and express the opinion that grinding adds nothing of value to Pokemon. You can buy infinite-use TMs to get overpowered moves, you can grind to make Return one of the strongest moves, you don't need to make smart choices spending your resources because you have infinite resources if you grind enough.

Either your level matches your foe's strongest Pokemon, giving you an unfair advantage over foes with a lower level, or it's too high putting you at an unfair advantage or it's too low putting you at an unfair disadvantage. Morons will say "It's not an issue because you can ignore the issue" to try and shut you up. Bad people will say "It's not an issue if you're not a bitch" to shame you into silence. Deep down, they both know you're right. Level doesn't add anything interesting to the game. Either you wasted time grinding, or you didn't. Or you cheated by speeding the game up, using a turbo controller AFK, or editing your save file, or editing the rom itself.

50 could be the maximum level and nothing about Pokemon would actually change outside of EV/IV autism 99% of players don't give a shit about. No Pokemon deserves to not fully evolve until it's over level 60. Pokemon could get their level from a "Trainer Level" that goes up as you progress the plot and defeat enemy trainers.

Express the factually true opinion that levels in a RPG are just filler content designed to drag out the game and create the illusion of progression. Most players only use one to six Pokemon because catching shit weaker than you and grinding it is rarely if ever worth it. With each game, grinding Pokemon levels, EVs, and IVs, will get slightly less time-consuming and retarded, and everyone is always happier as a result, because these mechanics don't deserve to be time-consuming at all.

Watch how quickly moderators will lock your thread to placate the failed men. It doesn't matter how gently you put this fact, you will bruise the egos of bad developers who think their "difficulty hack" or laughably mediocre fangame that took 10 years to make and has a story a 10-year old or AI could write is better than official Nintendo games because your Pokemon are usually level 100 by the time you take on the level 80 Elite Four and Champion.

"But in Fallout New Vegas, you need to raise your level doing sidequests on the long way to Vegas getting companions along the way! You can't go straight north to Vegas or you die! Level was used meaningfully in that western game so shut up about my favourite asian game and leave that billion dollar franchise alone!"

You haven't played the game. There are plenty of ways to go north at level one, some safer than others. It's not your level that gatekeeps you from going straight north, it's your skill at the game, your knowledge of the game, the equipment of your character, and the capabilities of your character. It's what you know and the choices you make. You can't do that in Pokemon.

Wild Pokemon are pointless and boring unless they're something you want to catch. They're weaker than you. They're not a threat. Nothing stops you from healing up except time. Which you can speed up, making it pointless. This isn't Dark Souls. Enemy Trainers won't be rematchable. If they are, they allow infinite grinding. Oh wait, Pokemon already allows infinite grinding because it's designed so even the youngest kids can beat it. This is the game "men" get huffy over if you criticize forced grinding in any game, romhack, or fangame.

If it’s not connected online, I don’t think it really matters. Personally, after working hard and competing in society, I don’t want to come home and compete with AI in a game.
