Talking about cheating...., I remember an unpleasant memory in highschool when classmates accused me for cheating in Pokemon Game when I effortlessly trashed their entire team of garbage pokemons using 252/252/4 IV Pokemons with their most suitable Natures combined with STAB Moves

Those Idiots don't even knew what's IV, EV, STAB and Pokemon Nature is!!!!

Nah, I only started playing games using cheats since 2006....
Before that I play honestly without using any cheats.
Now I only used cheats to speed up grindings (exp multiplier) since I don't have much time to play games as I used to be anymore....

There's little utility in asking for others' approval. It's your experience until you share it with others, even if you only share the knowledge of your cheating.
If you're worried about what others think, just don't mention it. That keeps it between you and the game.

As long as it's a single-player game and does not affect the gaming experience of others, that’s fine.

A single-player game is simply about providing the purest experience, right?

You play how you want, if you are cheating then you are only affecting your own experience.

For me it just gives me an extra reason to replay the game. Usually I play a few times without a cheat, but then I want to experience something different and you really can't without cheating. I mean Fallout 2 only got the 20 + playthroughs from me because I got the cheat mod and did all the weird and strange things I wanted to.

lol I never use cheat codes in video games. Why would I do that?

Cheating in online games makes me angry, but in single-player games, it’s no problem at all.

it is your gaming experience. if you are cheating through it, you might as well just watch a lets play and watch other people play. save yourself the money.

I see it in the same way as using a guide or watching a walkthrough instead of playing it. Part of the experience will be lost, but you can experience it however you want if you aren't affecting others in MP or leaderboards.

You do realize that instead of playing games designed around 100-hour grinds and then modding the grind out of them you could just play better games that aren't designed around grinding?

games are supposed to be fun. and using cheats can be a lot of fun.

It's fine as long as:

A: It doesn't negatively affect anyone else.
B: You aren't lying about it.

It's like how tool-assisted speedruns are totally okay as long as you're up front about it. If you're trying to pass it off as non-TAS though, then you're a PoS.

I'd barely count it as cheating. Same for cheese strats. But it can be a kind of "well what's one more cheat?" and then you've removed all the fun from the experience.

That said, I feel significantly less bad in harder games. I did find strats that let me 'one cycle' the bosses in Nioh. I'm nowhere near good enough to beat them properly, that's for sure. Though I guess the game already has the whole 'summon' system which I've never felt like I understood it enough to use it.

But in general, not cheating makes it easier to prevent myself from 'over cheating' and having a completely bland experience. Anyone that gets hung up on 'real gamer' cred needs to go outside and stroke a lawn though. It's all stuff we're doing for our own enjoyment, if we wanted to achieve something tangible we'd go to the gym or climb a mountain or do something that has a positive impact on other people. So doing whatever feels the most fun is just a-okay.
