Usually yes, but some modern single-player games have leaderboards or other features that need to be considered.

I mean, even in multiplayer I would say "depends..."
Let's say in Coop for example, if all team mates are in, or if there's some specific use/goal for the cheat(s)... then who's suffering? Let 'em have fun!

Cheats in competitive multiplayer is cancer-AIDS though. And for that matter, same with singleplayer games played for the expressed purpose of chasing Speedrun records or leaderboard placements.

Outright cheating usually ruins the experience for me.

But I balance on the razor's edge with how many mods I tend to use, including ones that objectively make games easier. Altering the rulesets and then abiding by them works for me.

I've always been someone who would rather feel the accomplishment of knowing I did it the right way rather than getting it done by cheating.

I guess I frown upon it in principle, I don't think most games are hard enough that you need to cheat to beat them.

People cheating to make the game more interesting is usually welcome in my book, though.

There are always game authors who like to make things difficult for players, which is why I cheat, but for games that are excellent in some aspect, I generally don't cheat.

If you don't effect others, e.g. showing off, no one care. It is just a single player game.

It's all depends on the player(s), honestly
I usually cheat when I finished a game once (new game+ or a new clean save) or at random points for experimenting

But yeah, nothing's stopping you from single player cheating, unlike multiplayer where you got anti cheat systems watching over you 24/7

It depends but usually I would just say do what you want. There were a few times I "cheated" because some cool looking armor had bad stats.

I used to care about it but honestly cheating just removes the fun out of any game so it is their loss if they do cheat in a single player game.
Now if you're just using cheats after you beat the game then that's fine.

Just like people, some games deserve to be cheated on. Because of how they don't respect the player's time.

I think people can experience their game how they like.

The real problem is affecting others in co-op or competitive multiplayer (and I'll include SP titles that feature a scoreboard in this)

The game takes too much time. I want to be more convenient. I am alone.

I think it's fine. It's not fun being frustrated.
