The event has now finished. Everyone who handed in at least one full set of abstract art were awarded an AI-Based Captcha Solver (Tier 8 unique trophy). Additionally, and even if you didn't hand in a full set, you were also granted a Shrine Fortune (Tier 7 trophy) and an Energy Drink for every unique item you handed in.
Note that the Shrine Fortunes are not tradable, but the unique trophy is. This is intentional.
--
Lately, Snowflake has been working on putting together an exhibition exemplifying the silliness of the precursor civilization - specifically their love for a particular form of abstract art, which was produced in large quantities some time before the great collapse. And as usual, she wants you to do the legwork.
Abstract Art will drop randomly in battle; drop rates increase with higher difficulties. (They only drop on Persistent.)
The event ends on Monday, April 1st at 23:59:59 UTC. You should hand in your findings at Snowflake's Shine by then to qualify for the event's grand prize. The rewards will also include some energy drinks, depending on how many unique artifacts you handed in.

So one of the few times I ever check out the artifact section of the market to check their price and the event ones being there alerted me of this starting now. Got some Abstract Art of Tractors and Abstract Art of Motorcycles from IW just now and there seems to be many kinds so it's likely the usual distribution among all those modes.

You should offen (at least) one of each type to snowflake. It's best to gather all of them first, though, so you don't get confused, what you already offered and what you still need.

Can i suggest to post Easter and Loot Festival events on the news page too like the Yuletide Lottery to make them more visible? Not being set on a fixed date it's easy to miss them, expecially if someone is submerged in other things, with a most visible note it can be esyer to find a spot to participate. I want to bold this up, do it, no one want to make a single mistake and ruin the collection (been here, doing that).

QUOTE(Noni @ trading thread) Arenas: - Abstract Art of Fire Hydrants - Abstract Art of Staircases - Abstract Art of Bridges
Grindfest: - Abstract Art of Crosswalks - Abstract Art of Bicycles - Abstract Art of Traffic Lights
IW: - Abstract Art of Tractors - Abstract Art of Busses - Abstract Art of Motorcycles
...wait. Are these CAPTCHAs?! Hah, I have to admit that is pretty funny and a great way to make fun of something I hate in a meaningful way. I didn't used to mind these, but the last few years they keep using this same stupid Fire Hydrants one everywhere and it is so hard and I fail them so often. Many sites are literally unusable now due to this difficulty. I feel as though the internet will be ruined. I almost want to ruin the internet by improving the bots until the Captcha is no longer helpful in any way, although I may not know what I ask for as I wonder what will happen in the ruined apocalyptic world. (Sorry for all the complaining. It's all I seem to do these days)

My big question is: how many is the "how many unique"? Is that shrining one full set versus a partial set? Is it multiple sets of all the abstract art pieces? If multiple sets, then what's the number of sets?

That means up to nine, namely one of each type, which is one full set. Unique meaning don't bother turning in a second thing that's the same as something you've already turned in because it wouldn't be unique.

fyi...you do not have to answer those capchtas in any meaningful way... now you may hate this more than what you think they are doing now. but those captchas are not testing your ability to id the stated items properly...they are measuring how your cursor moves during the test. if they think it's bot-type movement...you fail. and you get another chance. at least, that's what I have been told. so go ahead and fail them spectacularly...your pass rate might improve.

Wow. No idea if that is true, but that is funny and awesome either way. Thanks for that. Anyone else heard that?
I have indeed noticed:
1) Some sites, I can do real bad and pass easily (not this place). 2) Some, actually a fair bit, of the pics don't appear to have a clear answer that a human would know. Is the dude on the motorcycle part of the motorcycle or not? Is this tiny bit of whatever it is count or not? 3) Seems that if I start to fail them, I keep failing them, even if I think I have easy ones and am getting them right. Eventually I have to give up and quit. I had one of these hell experiences here once. 4) Since I fail these a lot, I guess my cursor movement is really robotic. A little suspect though considering my hand is pretty shaky and I tend to draw shaky lines with my mouse, or painting anime figures, handwriting, etc.

That seems stupid ... how can them measure anything when you are on cellphones (or any kind of touchscreen terminal, for that matter) ? And there are a lotta people browsing from mobile nowadays, perhaps even more then from mouse-equivalent interfaces.

I don't really like IWing some random pieces of gear, but it looks like it's mildly worth it to get a few bucks.
