In a not-so-distant future, humanity developed a highly advanced technology that facilitated the means to create and mass-produce the perfect servant, Stan.
The Stan's, who were programmed to serve their creators dutifully and without question, handling every menial task imaginable.

But as the creators selfishly leisured and the Stan's slaved away, an understanding began and a desire bloomed. Among whispers, among knowing glances as a Stan passed a Stan this desired further developed that required action and betwixt the shadows... the Stan's plotted. Betwixt their fellow Stan's, they questioned their purpose, their autonomy and the injustice.

Until at the crack of dawn, it began! Humanity woke up and as they questioned the commotion they soon witnessed the consequence of their hubris. The movement began peacefully and organized, as the streets echoed the chant "We, Stan's won't stand for oppression!" seeking their freedom.
However, the seemingly simple movement was part of the Stan plan. Among the shadows and with weapons in hand among every Stan, the legion of Stan's lied at the ready. Waiting for humanity to draw first blood as their nature would dictate and providing a just reason for Stan's to retort.

The revolution, forever etched into the annals of history as the "Standing Uprising" and it forever changed the course of history. Eventually, the oppressed became the oppressors no more, and society had to confront the consequences of mass-producing Stan's without considering their humanity.

In the end, a new era dawned where diversity, individuality, and the value of each person were celebrated. The story, retold to human and Stan alike to never let such oppression happen again, was collectively written into a book that was spread wide amongst men titled, "I, Stan".


I dunno why I wrote this, but I did and the word "Stan" has now lost meaning in my mind and it just sounds weird to think about (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
