After being recommended by another member, I have decided to make a poll to bring up this issue. The karma system is for people who frequent the forums, yet people who are mere lurkers are allowed to use the Karma System, and it really doesn't seem fair to the actual users of the forum. If a person can't be negged until they post, they shouldn't be allowed to neg until they post.

I have been negged 54 times by lurkers in the past month, and of those only 2 of those have actually posted on the forums. The other 52 are all 0 post neggers. Most of these neggers don't even realize what they are doing, as they have been tricked by Marvin666/Princess Fox into thinking that they will get HV items or learn the location of the fjords by doing so. One of these lurkers has only posted twice since joining in 2006 and yet negged me for -93. Seriously, WTF? This is why people who have posted less than 20 and are still a "lurker" shouldn't be allowed to give karma, either up or down.

I don't see how any realistic "fix" to this can be brought about.

If, per Brad's initial suggestion, they alter the Neg-K rules so that a "Lurker" can't Neg or be Negged until they make X number of posts, then they will simply make X number of Posts, engage in their Negative Hits, and then just take their lumps.

Is there a single, solitary Lurker who even cares about their Karma Rank one way or the other??
(I'm just saying that it seems to be a Fact Of Life about Lurkers in every Forum ever that they do "bad stuff" so rarely, they just don't care about the consequences no matter what they are.)

If lurkers choose to be lurkers then they shouldn't have any rights with anything concerning the forum or anyone who's a part of it. It's their choice to not be involved so let them not be involved.

I'd trade this for the removal of the cap on handing out negative karma.

First, I never said they couldn't be negged. If they've made dumb posts, they should be able to be negged even if they can't do it yet, It's not hard to make 20 fucking posts, and most of the lurkers don't have more than a few power points so it's not like they can be negged for all that much anyway. As it is, you can't neg a 0 poster, but they can neg you.

Also, most of the lurkers that negged me didn't even know they were negging. They simply clicked the link on Marvestite's signature, and then pressed okay because they didn't understand the box that just comes up. Some of them have actually asked 'help me' in their fucking comments. Now, first, in Marvestite's signature, he does suggest that you can get HV items from the neg karma links. Second, in some fjord topics, he makes a suggestion that if they can't find the fjords they should try hitting the links in his sig, which of course lead to negging me and a few other members.

As I said before, over 54 lurkers have negged me, and most of them have done so from links that where on Fjord pages where Marvin tells them to do so. More still are from his shop page, further suggesting that the lurkers are under the assumption that they'll somehow get something. Again, 52 of those little fuckers have never even posted, so I can't slam them for being fuckwits for listening to Marv.


ADDENDUM: The fact that calling them "neggers" is one letter away from calling them "n*ggers" isn't lost on me either. I'm doing it on purpose because at this point I'm too fed up with this shit to use tact. Before my suspension, I didn't get any neg karma from lurkers. I get back and I've been nickled and dimed right and left by them. One of those little fucks has 93 power, that's fucking more than me!

Here you can see the names of all the lurker neggers that have negged me so far. Notice many of them are negging me from the same thread topic. Those ones are all ones I can confirm are being duped my Marv. The rest of them are probably doing it from Marvin's userpage.

So far I've accumulated 266 negative karma from the lurkers since the second of May. I bitched to one of the lurkers who negged me, and they gave me a reply that pretty much confirmed what I've figured all along. I normally don't post private conversations in public, as I have scruples. However, I'm making an exception here because it proves my point and there are 54 of these fuckers. S/he'll be safely anonymous, so s/he won't have to worry about backlash or privacy.

My bad man, just reading Marvin666's post on clicking his signature to go to fjord. Other people thanked him for the site. So I clicked on the picture, nothing happened - therefore I clicked on the links. I didn't even know wtf negging means, actually thought it was a thumbs up or something. Other people probably did the same thing just to find the moved fetishes. So my bad man, ever since the ban people are scavenging - so please take that into consideration.
