If months were years, this would be our Semiquincentennial bicentennial year of having a banner contest. That's right, this here is (by my cursory reckoning) our 200th banner contest. Talk about some time and history. Also, It's back to school for many semester based school systems.

Unrelated, but it is long past time to update this prompt a wee bit, but the rules are largely the same.

Welcome to the 250th 200th Monthly E-Hentai Banner Contest, a test of creativity open to any registered user that wishes to participate.

Banners will be voted and ranked by our gallery and forum staff, and results will be posted in the banner contest thread generally within the first few days of the month.

Those banners meeting a minimum point threshold will be featured on the News Page of the E-Hentai Galleries. In addition, each banner contestant that wins will be awarded Hath based on their placement:

1st through 3rd place: 500 Hath
4th place and lower: 300 Hath




Rules:

1. Use the banner template found here: link
   • This banner template is in PSD format with the banner title isolated from the background.
   • In the workpaths of the file, horizontal limit recommendations have been included as a guide to where the banner title would be best located. The spacing suggested works best with even numbers of characters; split between each side, or three characters; two on one side and one on the other.
   • In addition to the PSD file, PNG copies of the banner with the banner title justified left, right, and center are also provided for those who lack the means to edit PSD files.
2. Submitted banners must be submitted as a PNG image file, preferably as a forum attachment.
   • Banners may not be animated, even in PNG format.
3. Each person may only submit one banner.
   • In the event of multiple submissions the first banner that appears in the thread will be used.
   • If you need to modify your banner entry post initial submission, please edit your posts so that your updated banner is either your first or only entry in the contest thread.
4. There must be at least one female character present in the banner.
   • Obviously male characters are not permitted.
5. Absolutely no nudity is allowed.
   • Partially exposed lolicon characters that, by way of convenient censoring or cropping, are rendered not nude will be grounds for disqualification as well.
6. *NOTHING* (characters, shadows, backgrounds, accessories, banner title, et al) shall touch or be cropped against the left or right edges of the banner.
   • The banner title should not be heavily edited or obscured beyond clear and obvious recognition. Minor edits such as color palette changes and layer effects are permitted.
   • The banner title may be moved horizontally as long as it satisfies the rest of rule 4, but please consider balancing and viewability.
   • The banner title must not be moved vertically however.
7. Less of a rule and more of a suggestion: Characters should either be from the same series, be in the same or similar art style, or connected by some kind theme (i.e. catgirls, Christmas, bunnies, mod suggested, Airddragon, etc)
   • Use of characters from IPs owned by aggressively protective companies (such as Blizzard or miHoYo [Genshin Impact] as an example) however is prohibited. (Ask if you are unsure)
8. Though admirable, please do not include artist credit or signatures along the banner art.
9. You must understand that I love you all. Except Spectre. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif)

Please be mindful of some basic considerations regarding your chosen artwork, in particular to visual clarity. If you are unsure whether any part of your banner may be at odds with the rules, feel free ask in the banner contest thread, or alternatively look at past entries in this subforum to see what other users have submitted.




If you wish to preview a banner as it would look on the website but do not want to manual modify url paths in the browser console you can try a script provided by hzqr:

This one generates previews in place, no need to save the banner, just double click on a banner entry, and double click again to remove it.

Huh? 20 Years already!?

I have mathed wrong and or double counted, and also wrote most of that exhausted, I should go back and actually count.

edit: I accidentally counted a page twice when doing mental math (Which is harder to do when you don't have a physical brain of your own anymore). We also Missed a month near the beginning due to irl circumstances.

Is this okay? I don't think I've posted one with any text in it outside of the logo before now... also, do crude drawings count as nudity?
