For various reasons, I have decided to make two significant changes to how Isekai works going forward.

Firstly, the dates it was happening on turned out to be somewhat unfortunate on a RL level, since I was usually not home during both of those periods, so we're changing it to be based around the Spring and Autumn Equinox instead. Which means that the seasons will cycle around March 19th-21st and September 22nd-23rd.

Secondly, launching Isekai with an update presented various challenges. For one, there was a "deadline" for each update, and if the update wasn't ready by then it would either have to wait six months, or the next season would have to be postponed. More importantly, it means that we wouldn't get to test conversion scripts that would later be used on Persistent, and the scope of testing would be limited to whatever level and equipment people would be able to obtain starting from zero until the update was deployed to Persistent. To resolve these issues, updates will no longer be deployed with new Isekai seasons - instead, updates will be deployed just like on Persistent, whenever it is ready.

In other words, the current season of Isekai will end on September 23rd.

Good news! I'd much rather have a surprise update than a surprise end of season. Makes it easier to plan out tower attempts when I know how long the season will last.

Considering how little I play these days my vote should mean almost nothing, but for what it's worth I'll also vote for having longer isekai seasons, for lazy inactive peeps. Maybe yearly resets, or 1.5 yearly resets, or 0.75 yearly, etc.

(this might have negative consequences such as getting bonus points less often, or lessening the "who can level up and progress the fastest" fun part of things, but it's just something to consider, and the amount of bonus points could always be adjusted)

From what I've heard (which may be wrong) most people these days are not isekai players: if that is the case then that might support lengthening the isekai seasons.

I just got here so my vote should also be taken with salt. I think 2/year is fine. People can simply opt out for a season if they don't feel up to it. Maybe my opinion will change when I clear/attempt-and-fail Floor 50 though (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I don't particularly mind changing it to a yearly reset if most people would prefer that, seeing as it no longer blocks updates, but I'd need more than three opinions on the matter.

twice a year seems enough. longer season is unfriendly to those who rely on isekai to acquire new equipment or damage bonus, especially for new players.

Personally, I prefer 2x per year. That way we can plan to use our soulfused equip in persistent. Also, if everyone starts at the same time there is so much more equipment for trade availabe. Recently, we've seen new players start at isekai 'on their own' - still works, but you miss the interaction of the trading community.

3-4 times a year!

The game is only really exciting in the beginning and I think at the 2 month mark (around the time ppl reach floor 50) the player base falls off drastically. I have no actually data to back this up, just what it seems like from the activity I've seen.

Also, while I've never completed a season before, the current system of twice a year feels right to me.
