Its pretty much the most underwhelming ending possible to the point i'm still not sure if it was bad on purpose.

It was very meh, could have been much better.

It's been like 2 years since I read the final chapter and I still hate it.
I remember watching the anime and then reading the chapters week after week and thinking of how great it could be if Isayama nailed perfectly the final arc but this didn't came to be.

What was the point of the Mikasa and the east nation plotline at the beginning of the time skip? Just to show where her ethnicity came from? There was no follow up of her being a descendant of the previous leader after the war ended.

Are we supposed to believe that Historia married her childhood bully just because he might have said sorry?

The motivation for the whole "avengers plotline" (as some people call it) where Jean, Hange and co. decide to stop/kill Eren after he started the rumbling is really weak. Jean asked a good question of how they could prevent the island from being destroyed since everyone in the whole world hated them and Hange just dismissed him. But clearly the answer they reached was the incorrect one since the war continued against the island and still got nuked years later.

I heard many rumors (mostly copium) that they want to change the ending of the anime but I'm not sure if that will even come to be.

worse ending

It definitely turned it from one of the best fictional stories to a great manga to me. All the themes leading upto the ending were thought provoking stuff about war and revenge. It was fascinating to read a story where all sides had good justification for their actions.

All I wanted from it's ending was to leave intact that grey morality so fans could argue for eternity who was right or wrong. Instead it turned into a marvel-esque story where people joined hands to defeat the big bad.

Not bad, but the story had so much more potential.

Considering the story till the final arc to be rated 9-10, I think the ending was a 7.

It started out serious, but then the last arc was all loli titans in swimsuits doing cute things. I guess some people didn't like the change in tone.

Squish and vore count as cute things, right?

At first glance, I felt shocked and puzzled, feeling like I didn't quite understand. Perhaps I should watch the animation carefully again to understand it
