One that is actually active as a cell phone.

I have a sony, a LG, a pixel. Pixel is the only active one.
The sony is older than LG, and it works all well while the LG is completely dead...

5 2 samsung ,2 apple , and one sony but mainly will use the apple

To answer the question: I only need one. I probably would have two if one is needed for the work place.

I basically just hold onto my old ones... and my 'two-phone-old' unit has a 30 pin ipod connector so it's the only way to get a line input in my car.
It is not used as a phone, but it is still technically a phone.

(I do not use apple phones anymore, and I used that one way back when because it was free and I jailbroke it).

I don't understand people who swap sim cards or whatever else they do and have multiple phones in service. Especially over two.

Earliest one I have is an old Ericsson GA 628.

It still powers up.

This has me thinking just how long is it worth holding onto any of them, really. It's definitely been more for sentimental value than practical backups for me.
