Question concerning the tag. Can I mix AND and OR?

Let's say I want a search result that must include
1. male:"gender morph$" OR male:feminization$
AND must include
2. female:"big breasts$" OR female:"huge breasts$"

SO the search result must match galleries that include BOTH 1. and 2. Tags, but 1. and 2. can be either of their included tags.

Does parentheses work?

Parentheses do not work and I can't think of a way to complete your example search without doing it in two searches. However, huge breasts requires big breasts so you'd be getting all the huge breasts galleries mixed in regardless.

You can OR gender morph and feminization and then require big breasts like this:
~m:"gender morph$" ~m:"feminization$" f:"big breasts$"

At first I thought it might have been because of the galery being expunged, but after looking through things, I can confirm that I have other expunged galleries that I can see just fine on sad panda, so I have no idea what the arbitrary bar for what is and what is not soft-locked on the favorites screen is at the moment.

Either way, You can count me in as anouther voice requesting that the staff roll back this particular update. Whatever possible backend improvements it might have are NOT worth the costs in the overall user experiance.

More than problematic as this will make users abandon E-hentai to either go to the competition or more questionable sites.

what's possibly worse is that their going to double down on this out of ego. there are people in this thread willing to help in terms of programming, even hardware upgrades to keep the site we love alive. granted love is a subjective term, but some of us have been on the internet a long time, and we know a bad change when we see it

I've been frequenting this site for 60% of my life, so it sure means a lot to me. For more than a decade it has been a constant, a known value, something I could trust. You don't know what you have till it's ripped away from you.

Need to double down and remove ALL ability to click hyperlinks. Make it so you have to guess the URL of every single gallery.

Been wondering this too, you can go a bit further by removing the gender specification if both use the same tag.

The removal of the page selector is a big drawback imo, but I'll survive without it (hopefully).

Removing page selection is purely anti-quality-of-life in every single way

Now people will have click "next" thousands of time just to find certain content assuming they only remember the content vaguely, which for me, happens a lot.

1. In Favorites, page selector is necessary.
Very few people should have so many favorites that using pages is computationally unfeasable

2. Implement both upload date and publishing date search functionality.
People complaining about pages being gone impacting guesstimate time based searching are stupid. They should be asking for actual hard time based searching.

3. At the very least, implement buttons for jumping GID numbers as a temporary solution, even though it would still be unintuitive and random.
GID is a 7 digit number, and people have no idea how many galleries in a set of results they're skipping over when they pick a random GID. Nobody should be editing the url to navigate search results, EVER. That's simply ludicrous.

The engine already has to scan all the results and order them. And it seems the problem was that for whatever stupid reason it is not caching anything.

It actually does have a overall performance cost. If every index entry is 2KB, and it takes 0.0004 seconds for the CPU to perform enough cycles to gather the data to sort the indexes and fetch the associated data block per entry, then with 60,000 results that's 120MB and 24 whole seconds of server resources requested. When E-Hentai has something north of 15,000,000 visits a month that server is getting hammered. The problem is Tenboro took the easier method out because partitioning up the database and migrating to several smaller servers in a cluster was either too hard or too expensive up front.

Big problem. Copyright removed galleries no long show up at all in favorites. People have no idea what they've lost. If there's anyone like me that takes any removed galleries they find in their favorites and sets them to a specific favorite bar to find them elsewhere later, go to e-hentai now and check what's missing while you still can. I had 7 deleted galleries I know of, but who knows how many I don't know about?

IMO, the best course of action is to transition away from GID-based referencing to date-based referencing, which should be relatively simple while keeping most of the performance uplift.
E.g. add a search by published date option with radio buttons to choose between going forwards and backwards in time.
The problem with GID is it's not human readable nor its well sorted. It seems like ppl want some reference point that they can understand when going through a long list of galleries?
Then, instead of having 'Page 50 of keyword X', one can use 'Page 2 of keyword X from 2020-Nov-20,' which may not satisfy all the disgruntled people here but still provide a reasonable experience.
I think adding a blank space (perhaps with a date) in between two days will further help the users.

Won't regurgitate what's already been said. Instead, I'll point out a minor nitpick. Assuming I have a GID to a gallery I like, putting it in the URL actually gives me the next corresponding gallery at the top of the results. My choice then is to either hit previous and scroll to the bottom of the page, or use a GID that is more recent than the gallery I was looking for.

It'd be nice if hidden tags were still listed when you choose to re-search with filtered tags included. They used to show up at red tags when you did an unfiltered search which was useful.

Pagination was essential for literally every search navigation session, especially for favorites tab. This is the worst QoL change on Eh so far (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif)

I bet every Eh competitor is laughing now.
