We can jump pages by using GID at adress bar.
But, how can we jump pages at favorites??

is what makers of nhentai or whatever the sites that extract content from here will say.
Indeed for parsers and automated machines, it may be a significant improvement.
Not for humans.

If someone made a a script for favorites to work again properly, I'm interested.
While it would be more user-friendly if said script could update itself by repeatedly clicking the next button, so it save the structure to rebuild pages, I'm taking it even if I have to hardcode it.

Question concerning the tag. Can I mix AND and OR?

Let's say I want a search result that must include
1. male:"gender morph$" OR male:feminization$
AND must include
2. female:"big breasts$" OR female:"huge breasts$"

SO the search result must match galleries that include BOTH 1. and 2. Tags, but 1. and 2. can be either of their included tags.

Does parentheses work?

Is there a limit on favorites still? I have no idea how many favorites I have now but I know i was hitting close to the 100k limit.

New Search Engine is a hassle

I guess this is what happens when there's a gap between devs who might have "great plans" in their head but actually do not use the functionalities much so have little idea how users proceed versus the users who actually use it on daily usage and have to deal with devs who have ideas but not the ones they needed.

Just like game devs who don't play the games will not understand the complaints of users/players

This thread is giving me flashbacks to, "Why would anyone use a GUI, command line is so much easier" discussions in early programming days.

Good for the site and good for users are not the same, functionality gains have to be weighed against usability losses. A perfectly functional site that no one wants to use seems worse to me than a somewhat buggy site everyone wants to use, but that's just my perspective.

Of course, the ideal solution would be to marry the two in some fashion, to use gallery ID on the backend and have a numerical user interface for the end user. A chronological interface would probably solve most of the issues people are having, again, speaking for myself.

Any chance we can get a bit of a compromise in the form of something that keeps track of what page we're on, at least? It should still be possible to see how many pages back we are, right?

I know that everyone here is displeased about the fact that the total search results are no longer counted as a part of every search and I don't particularly like that either. The admin explained why it's not coming back so we'll just have to deal with it. But I just wanted to mention that I've noticed a rather remarkable increase in the speed of searches and page loading times, even in galleries and images. And searching with OR and only NOT functionality is an excellent upgrade.

If the developers (or anyone who can write userscripts) care, you could probably add a relatively inaccurate but not ridiculously so function that will allow users to skip a percentage of their search results using differences of GIDs. You could maybe log the GID at the start of each month or something from the site's inception and use the differences divided bythe max GID to get a table that shows the percentage of the site uploaded by month. You could then use this to approximate where 25% or 50% might be.

Of course, this makes a variety of assumptions that may or may not be bad so perhaps it will not work at all. But it would probably satisfy some complaints.

This update has broken the favorites menu for me. Even discounting the fact that you can't use a GID (and so far I've yet to see a single legible explanation as to how I'm even supposed to use a GID to find a gallery, or what the fuck a GID even is in the first place) on the favorites menu, it also appears that this update has also made it impossible for me to view some of my favorited galleries on sad panda in the actual favorites menu.

Thankfully, I can see at least some of them on e-hentai proper since the update hasn't yet reached that, but at the moment, even though the galeries themselves still exist, and they clearly can be accessed on both e-hentai and sad panda, if I try to access my favorites on the latter, they just don't show up at all.

For reference, for one of the affected galeries, after moving it to an otherwise empty favorites category, here are two screenshots, the first on e-hentai, and the second on sad panda, that show what I see when I try to access the gallery through Favorites.

At first I thought it might have been because of the galery being expunged, but after looking through things, I can confirm that I have other expunged galleries that I can see just fine on sad panda, so I have no idea what the arbitrary bar for what is and what is not soft-locked on the favorites screen is at the moment.

Either way, You can count me in as anouther voice requesting that the staff roll back this particular update. Whatever possible backend improvements it might have are NOT worth the costs in the overall user experiance.

Imagine not being able to click a page number in a forum or thread. This update is terrible for general navigation.

How easy it was to write "15" in the pagefield and Bam, I was 3 days infront off....now, Tell me what I must Do, that I am so fast on the right possition???

Such a Bullshit I have never seen...sorry for the harsh words, but it is so and I am not alone with this opinion.

This is my first time on this forum. Glad I found what I was looking for in quickly. I'm also happy to know that I'm not the only one who doesn't like updates

@all except tenboro . Another solution would be put a lot of money in hardware . if the old system is maintained. guy speak with your wallet.

Can you imagine that happen? HAHA. user leaving the site. seriously The Old search engine is running out of RAM frequently. that are a old saying 'ether change the Software , or put a lot of money in hardware'

How much money would have to be invested to upgrade the server hardware as to where pagination will not be a problem for at least a long while?

why we can't even search 10 pages backward or 100 pages backward at least?

what's possibly worse is that their going to double down on this out of ego. there are people in this thread willing to help in terms of programming, even hardware upgrades to keep the site we love alive. granted love is a subjective term, but some of us have been on the internet a long time, and we know a bad change when we see it
