I'm not actually reading this thread anymore due to the heavy brigadeering. I get that it broke your favorite viewing tool, but all the reasons for why "bring back page number" isn't long-term technically feasible was already answered in the first few pages of the thread.

You realize admitting this just means you're going to get your inbox flooded, right?

Besides, the majority userbase doesn't even touch the forums most of the time and, as others have stated, you dropped this on the site with absolutely zero warning or even explanation outside of those forums. How on earth can you be surprised that people are pissed? I get it, there's a problem, but you don't "fix" it by dropping an update that removes basic UI without so much as a word on the main site. What you should have done is workshop the idea for a while in beta so people could give you more ideas on how to approach the problem.

And no, this update didn't break my favorite viewing tool, because I literally don't use any. I've been on this site since 2009 and basic functionality has always been sufficient for me, but now that basic functionality is screwy. And honestly, I'm not even that affected by the pagination thing, though I can see where everyone else is coming from—not only have you not bothered responding constructively to those complaints, you haven't bothered with anyone else's issues with the update, either.

This flood of complaints? You did that, all on your own, there's no "brigadeering" involved. Own up to your own damn mistakes.

I really am not understanding how to navigate to specific GID as a workaround to reach older content. Do you just edit the number in the URL of a gallery page? Whenever I try it just returns a page not found or other error. I know Tenboro and other mentioned editing GID info as a way to jump "pages" in a way but I don't understand how that works in practice.

Is there a manual on how to use this new fucked up system? I have looked for a few hours trying to find out how to effectively use the new shitty search but I haven't even found anything on Google, nor in any forms here that give a detailed how to use

@all except tenboro . Another solution would be put a lot of money in hardware . if the old system is maintained. guy speak with your wallet.

I've never posted before, but felt compelled to with this latest update.

It's un-user friendly, unintuitive & basic information is lacking for the user for searching. Even the very forum this update was posted on has a "go to page []" feature. What an utterly baffling move. Ruining pagination completely eclipses whatever improvements there may be.

So it seems it works like this:

Step 1: Do something.

Step 2: People react to that.

-- a) People react positively --> I WAS RIGHT
-- b ) People dont react/complain --> I WAS RIGHT
-- c) Few people complain --> Most people is ok with it --> I WAS RIGHT
-- d) A lot pf people complain --> Its brigadeering/trolls/mob mentality --> I WAS RIGHT

It must be a confortable mindset to live with.

It a gallery ID. instead of Page with mapped gallery ID. you can navigate by understand the lower the GID the older the Gallery. input 1 and you will get the last page, for other page you can ref own fav gallery and input newer (larger GID) or older (lower GID).

I don't even care about this change being reverted or whatever. I just would like a stickied guide to how to make use of GID as a way to navigate the site. Its inconvenient but I don't really care. This website is unique and honestly unparalleled no matter how the UI works.

I have used this site for around a decade and have never felt compelled to post on the forum before. I get on this website and just want to relax and whack off to be honest. I'd imagine that is true of most of the user base. I don't get mad if I start looking at a gallery full of shitting dick nipples and instantly "nope" my jack off session into oblivion. I didn't get butt hurt with the server migration or anything else over the years.

I get that this change is here to stay, I just legitimately don't understand how I am supposed to use the new system.

If you are talking about the main post most of that I'm not comprehending it fully unfortunately only getting bits and pieces even after reading it 50 or so times

@Tenboro I feel like there are plenty of programmers out there willing to help balancing the optimization of the site and user friendliness. The implementation of "or" in search welcomed, but the three big sore points so far seem to be no pagnination (especially for users on their phones) and the inability to find either deleted and expunged galleries in favorites. If you sift through this thread, there are some decent ideas that have been brought forward.

How does this work in practice though? Lets say I wan't to find galleries tagged with impregnation and English tags uploaded close to this gallery https://e-hentai.org/g/1075362/2f2fc91461/ how do I do that? The 1075362 is the GID right? If I edit that to anything I get an error. If I remove the last part of the URL I get an error.

I don't have much familiarity with how this site works under the hood so to speak and how that is reflected in the URL of a given gallery.

What issue are you facing, How did you try to solve it? and what is the expected result?

The best part is that older posts, due to GID not always being assigned chronologically in the early days of the site, now sort out of chronological order, so while the system kinda sorta "works" on newer stuff, all the real old stuff is effectively out of order and even more difficult to find.
