Yeah, honestly i also want the pages back, without it its impossible to know where you are between the beginning and the end.
Even more if you are like me and just look at all galleries from the newest, going page by page, i just feel lost when before i could tell how far i got from page 1.

I need page jumper because i often can't visit this site FOR DAYS. So i need them to backtrack which gallery i've been missed.

I need to get used to it, but I think it's a good change. I've seen improvement in research speed on stuff that were very long these last months. I guess that's why you also changed the search.

My main grip as everyone is the lack of pages number, but given you said it's technically not doable I did my mourning and moved on.

Tenboro, I do however think you should really explain in the news that it's technically not doable. So that (some) people will understand it's done for good and move on.

I noticed that removed galleries are no longer showing up in favorites. I had a lot of galleries that were removed due to copyright but at least I could search them by tags and find them by name somewhere else. Now they are gone (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

This update really seems like a crutch that, instead of fixing the source of the problem (indexes), covers up the consequences of that problem by sacrificing the usability of the system.
I don't know what exactly has changed under the hood, but the lack of navigation has seriously degraded the experience of using the site for me personally.

The engine update is great, but I still think the removal of the paging selector is extremely stupid.
I have over 1000 favorites, so if I want to see some great manga that I used to have in my favorites. What do I do? Scroll through page by page? I think that would be too much of a hassle. (The comics in my favorites don't change much in the short term, so I know the general location of my favorite manga)
Or I want to find a manga of a specific character that I like so much that I don't have the related fanfic in my favorites, and now I'm looking for that character's specific fanfic. And I know the general location of that manga (this character used to be popular and there were many manga about her, but now it's not popular anymore and there are not many new manga), so how do I access it?

Please bring back the page selector it was my most used feature for a few reasons.
It allowed me to locate myself on how many pages i'm looking through when filtering
It allowed me to know where I am while searching and possibly go back to it later if I have to stop serching before finding what I wanted
I used to skip a lot to older posts using it.
Personally I feel lost without it.
Again, please reconsider this change as it's the only change that I find obnoxious. If so make it as a test enable an option to select between the with and without and check how many people will preffer to remove it.
In about 8 years using this site this is the 1st time I post anything.

It probably has been considered, this seems like an update to the way indexing and searching the index was undertaken. It's essentially 0 load to click "next" (or next page). I would guess, the actual load comes from creating the paged indexes; which removing the pages accomplishes since now you don't have to worry about how many pages are needed for a given indexed search, they just display "endlessly" and show new results from the previously indexed search when clicking next (again, all supposition).

Also a lot of complaining for a site that gives you free, hard to find porn (depending obviously).

People gonna soon write script to chain up requests to go through the indexes and build up page number at browser local and also fire up parallel query for expunged to join the result.
We will see how much pressure that put on the server when everybody running that.

Also, the pagination selector was originally designed to reduce server load. Because you can get to a page directly instead of continuously requesting the next page from the server. When the number of comics increases later, the server will probably have trouble carrying tens of thousands of people clicking next at the same time.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts too. I wish there was some indication on how far I am currently from start or end of the search results. I admittedly have zero understanding of how this whole thing works behind the scenes, but is it so hard to have a page be able to show something like "showing results 176-200 put of 3664", or something to that effect?

Can we have a 2 dropdown menus for prev/next so that we can select how many pages we want to go backward/forward?

You can then calculate the GID for us using an offset query then redirect us with the returned ID.

Slow speed on high offset is probably part of your problem in the previous page selector, but since you only need to select GID instead of * for this ID search query it probably still be fast enough?
