The problem is that is that pagination was one of the things that, according to 10b was making the site choke.

To me, I think we need a Gallery ID jump box, either moving to a number, or moving an arbitrary number up or down, and a search-by-upload-date function, where we can throw in a date range and have it filter that way.

Like I can do some back of napkin math to slide up and down based on gallery ID number because I almost only use this site with a full-size web browser. But it's a nightmare for mobile, I can imagine.

Any information on the Internet is just a display of different forms of database content, so we only need a more reasonable algorithm and ui, this thing has nothing to do with the terminal

They tried improving the UI but completely disregarded the UX.
Removing page numbers is a small thing that drastically changes how people view the site. Expunged galleries not showing alongside visible ones is an even bigger problem. Whats the point of improving the website speed if the experience of using the site is much worse? Please hire a UX designer to at least help improve the usability and website speed.

Just level 3, level 1/2 (50/100) is remaining. And no pages isn't an issue cause when you click next you get the next 50/100 galleries (or 25 without Page Enlargement), just as if you clicked the next page. If you want more "pages" just keep clicking next, they're still sorted the same.

FIrst of all, I want to say that I think this is a big downgrade in terms of user experience, remembering roughly what page you were at is 10000x easier that remembering an ID,

Secondly, this seems broken for me right now on two fronts, one: my old 400 or so page tab reverts to front when I click anything so I'm leaving it for the moment, and also going to front page, advanced options and then setting 3 or more stars resets instantly upon searching and clicking next, going from 850k results back to 940k or so.

If you want more "pages" just keep clicking next, they're still sorted the same.

If pages were removed to lower server load, has it been considered that people will be rapid clicking through 20+ pages now?

What about providing the function of jumping to a few pages around a page(i.e. 10 pages). This should not put much extra burden on the server.

when i searched tag found over 10000results,and i used next to page100. if i want to go back to the page50，how should i do,click prev 50 times？

First Sankaku Channel, and now here. Unbelievable. And both cases are about an admin inexplicably trying to wreck their own site while too proud to do the responsible thing instead and properly preserve the enjoyment of countless people even though that's the entire point of their sites. It's like there's some kind of internal conflict which results in them doing something catastrophic.

I understand the technical reasons given are likely true, but there surely must have been a better way to handle the problem, even if it meant not allowing any more uploads as an absolute last resort if nothing else can be done. At least then we'd have a usable archive, as sad as that hypothetical outcome would be. It'd be much better than this.

Furthermore, at least Artefact, of Sankaku, said that their bullshit was ostensibly to try to pay the bills. Tenboro won't even say that this was also done in order to bend over for Fakku/Irodori now utterly.
With OT recently gone as well, it seems we probably have something of a hellscape ahead of us compared to what we had gotten used to for the past several years.

I will miss the page number buttons, they where useful.

Delighted to see OR searches are finally a thing now.

Losing the page numbers is a real shame though, I really liked having an easy indicator of how far along I had gotten whenever I'm on a tagging spree across every gallery with specific tags.

It seems that the "update" is to go back to primitive times.

Can't believe I'm losing post virginity over this shit. Navigation with this new implementation is abhorrent. The joy of digging for old stuff that somehow gone under the radar, recovering forgotten gem cause I can barely recall tags, jumping back to see what I've missed cause I couldn't beat off for day or two and OH fucking simple task of browsing through my Favs, all made arbitrary cumbersome for sake of something I don't see nor care. Thank you, thank you kindle for all of this.

I gave up reading a few pages into this thread and I'm just as unhappy as many others without the page selector option.

Plus the update has made the 3rd party way I used to look at site on my phone basically useless, which was the "best" compared to others out there or struggling to check the site on a regular browser.

Idk how this is feasible in a UX standpoint tbh.
Seems alot of people hate this update as well, hope we may get a revert I guess.

Like so many I never posted anything here but today I want, like so many others and so many more, to say my dislike about the remove of the Pagenumbers.

I understand to Update the site, but the Design with the GID is just plain bad.

Every Internetsite has Pagenumbers, EVERY SITE, from Porn Sites to Goverment Sites to fucking selfmade Blog sites, Fuck even this Forum has fucking Pagenumbers!

Now you try telling us that the GID system is better and by the love of everything I can´t see how.

In my eyes is it far more work and more complicated than the Old system.

And UI Update should make things BETTER not WORSE!

Personally not a big fan of the new UI, but then again, a change to UI that I've been accustomed to for nearly a decade plus comes to a surprise.

Considering the massive scale of the site, I imagine this is an understandable optimization. I'm a dev so I can sympathize the tradeoff the devs had to make.

So, between Irodori and Tenboro, this site has been fucked. I'm one of those simple users who know very little about what the fuck Tenboro was on about when I read the OP. You somewhat crippled my viewing experience on this site. Please come up with a hybrid version of the new and old version of the search engine to make everyone happy.
