Sorry, I definitely didn't get my point across very well... I am 300% on applying the new modernized search logic for the global library as the previous one wasn't up to the task anymore. I was wondering why did it also get applied into Favorites, where the Jump/Seek function is way less intuitive, and pagination is definitely an option as Favorites are limited in quantity (if I'm not mistaken).

Favorites are kind of in a limbo since they need a database rework, and will be revised in the not too distant future.

So what, we should make a Discord channel and post patch notes there? That's the proper zoomer way to do it? How the hell is that an improvement?

Discords is too zoomer-ry way to do things now. I like how this site has nostalgic feelings and is still somewhat active with some best userbase!

Also, some of us have no interest or even ability to create a Discord account.

searching for 'hisoka hunter -english' with all 'disable custom filtters' selected gives
Found 32 results. Excluded 12 galleries from this page. and only shows 20 results

but searching for 'hisoka hunter' gives

I believe this has recently become the way to display how many results are excluded by negative searches. The search engine cannot correctly estimate the total result count for exclusions (source). So instead, it now displays the total result count estimate for only the positive searches and then uses the same message that is used for custom filters to display how many results were excluded by negative searches on the current page. You will see this for any negative search, not just -english (e.g. just search -"big breasts" without anything else).

No, like peterson123 says it's intentional. It says "filtered" if it was the filters and "excluded" if it was an exclusion term.

It could be, if there were far more than 50 pages. Most sites with page navigation limit you to very few results (i.e. nyaa or google) or stops you from navigating too deep (i.e. boorus), and there are good reasons for that.

Like I said, I'm aware that 3rd party tools will have to work around the lack of pagenumber addressing, but it is what it is. It's just not computationally feasible to provide deep pagenumber addressing in search results with hundreds of thousands of results. The old search engine was struggling badly with it, where many results took several seconds to generate, and it sometimes just fell over and died due to running out of RAM.

even if you guys don't want to put a page selector you could have kept the page number on the url so that ppl can just got to the last page and see max pages they have on favorites and just use the url to find the page they are looking for.

I don't know how to use this new method cause I never look at the year I can't even find a thing with this new method it's annoying as hell to find anything.

I have more than 5k per favorite that's like 50 something pages finding them by genre is still at least 10-15 pages

at least with the page number I know roughly were everything was.

on the favorite you could also have just put the max number of pages at the bottom and have a mini search where the person could just insert the page number they want to go to. this new method is dumb

The page selector doesn't exist because paging doesn't exist. It's not just a UI element that has been removed. The entire concept of a page has been removed. You cannot go to something that doesn't exist.

It is listed as a known limitation I believe, but it probably makes sense to just always use the estimator when categories are unselected rather than fudging the number with the pre-calculated factors. I'll make a note of it.

About the numbered search pages removal i get it that there was too many pages to keep it (still think there could be a better way but ok), however, couldn't you just keep those in the favorites section tho? i mean, i guess it's safe to assume that no one have as many favorites as there is works in the site so...isn't that possible? it would help a lot to navigate in there.

Also the comments doesn't have a threshold anymore, but why? i mean, isn't that one of the whole reasons downvotes exists? surely maybe make it so a comment needs more downvotes to be hidden might help avoid angry trolls, but remove? why?

Those are not glitches.
You just need to use quotes, otherwise they will be treated as multiple keywords instead of one.
