A question about the jump/seek, is the date selection box supposed to stay "disappeared" if you click close and not cancel? it seems that once you click close, the box to select a pre-defined date range won't re-appear until you refresh or next/prev. It's absolutely the lowest priority issue ever, but just something I noticed and wasn't sure if it was intended (didn't notice it in the notes).

Do you have security software infesting your firefox?

One user had Trusteer Rapport causing the problem.

Nvm it seemed that either E-H was fixed by developers or adding the plug-in "I don't care about cookies" worked.

Why using Jump/Seek choose only one word to represent a feature, two words will only make hard to talk about it. Unless you want to call it Jump Seek.

Can be added someway to know how deep you are in a search? Like I clicked next button 21 times and previous 4 times so "where I am?", having to keep track of how many pages i'm off the origin is pretty hard and unnecessary.
Give me a answer about it, if it's not going to be implemented I will do in my extension.

It's complicated. The system can't just blindly go by "well we are at around GID 2M and there are ~2.4M GIDs so we are about ~17% into the result" because results can just suddenly dry out. Say for example you are searching for a parody, or a character from said parody; there will (should) be no results before said parody existed, and the grouping of said results can be very peaky. It usually looks something like a Poisson distribution, where you get a fairly sharp increase from 0 to a peak typically around the time when the anime airs, then a long tail going until everyone who liked the series have died or lost interest. Similarly, searches for concepts or artists that didn't exist until long after the site launched, like "patreon" or "ai generated" will exhibit a similar behavior, except the curve is more of a straight line, until the artist disappears and it goes back to zero. Similarly again with fetishes where the tags didn't exist until a given point of time, and so on.

Oh crap, Ten, now I want to see a visualization of this so badly - graph of search results over time, and be able to click into any spot on the graph. I'm a sucker for good data-vis.

And since it was lost in the noise back there, am I misunderstanding how expunged galleries work now? I can't see them in search results at all on sadpanda. Which makes me... a sad panda.

If you click close, it's supposed to close the box but leave the text field intact in whatever state it was. If you click cancel, it's supposed to revert to the Jump/Skip link.

Try reading Tenboro's posts in this thread. It is very well explained why this had to happen.

I had the following gallery (1538287) that I was going to download marked as expunged. No problem, happens. However, trying to search for additional items by this artist - even with expunged results supposedly included on sad panda - fails. No results, even the gallery I'm looking at.

To reproduce:

1. Search for gid:1538287
2. Open the search result (which shows regardless of expunged search options as expected)
3. Click the artist and click "Show tagged galleries"
4. Check "Browse Expunged Galleries"
5. Click "Search"

And... nothing. Not even the original gallery.

Worked fine for me using the steps you gave, gotta click search again once you check "Browse Expunged Galleries." Ends up being the only result shown.

EDIT: It's a tag filter blocking it. Didn't the UI used to show if you had hidden results being blocked by a filter, rather than "No hits"?

Can somewhat confirm, but only because I have category "Game CG" disabled by default. When I turn "Game CG" on, I get results. => No repro.

EDIT: I cleared my cookies and everything, just in case some of my settings were interfering with the new release. Still nada.

Hmm, yeah, I see it. It should show the "no unfiltered results" screen instead of the "no hits found" one if any results were filtered out. Try it now.

I really wasn't thrilled about the removal of the page counter either, but I'm hoping that the UI can be improved and made more user friendly over time.

Yes, here too. My muscle memory is used to clicking "2" slightly left of the center.
Something feels very wrong in how the "Next" button is now on the right side of the page.
An option (or a 3rd party script) to move the navigator to the leftmost edge would be appreciated.

Same thing about the "[Disable Filters]" message, it's rather irritating to constantly have it there. I'd rather disable filters from the settings or the advanced menu.

When I change the page or do a search, it displays properly as one line.

Yeah, I suppose there isn't any way of turning them back on except for that, using the browser back button or manually fiddling the URL, so I'll consider keeping the button there to turn it back on.

Small visual tweaks like that are easy to make with Stylus or similar, so if you have particular preferences you can use that.

Not sure why you would get that, but it's easy enough to put a nowrap rule on those text boxes to prevent it anyway, so I can add that with the next stylesheet update.
