I'm having trouble doing some basic searches. I must be misunderstanding something. For example, why does this not work?

Wouldn't a good compromise just have options to skip ahead 50 posts or whatever number you want? Pages by default show 25 posts I think so you could just add jump 50, 100, etc to essentially serve as easily page jumping without the tedium of having to specify all the dumb search parameters.

The date seeking works for my use case of checking up on the site every month-ish, would it or is it possible to set a date range like Jan22-Mar22 and only show those results? Or is that the same problem as pagination.

Sort of like how on danbooru you can search date:>=2022-01-01 date:<=2022-03-01

Searching by date range would be a big help, because you'd be able to piece together a visual for how many search results exist in each year and/or month. Right now there's still no sense for how many entries you're skipping when you jump by X time, or if there's a hot month you might want to zero in on. The seekbar userscript is a good concept, but the year widths are scaled by ALL releases on EH and not just the ones in your search, if I understand correctly.

I don't know if this is a bug, but I can't seem to search for specific titles using the low-power search option enabled (like "tag" "title of work").

I haven't had a chance to use the new interface to see how much has changed with pagination. As long as I can do a search, get results, and step through them - whether in pages or by whatever method - then that meets my needs. I don't need to jump to arbitrary points, but I don't want to run a search and not get results.

Which leads me to one problem I've seen, relating to expunged galleries. I had the following gallery (1538287) that I was going to download marked as expunged. No problem, happens. However, trying to search for additional items by this artist - even with expunged results supposedly included on sad panda - fails. No results, even the gallery I'm looking at. This seems to be a bug, as expunged has always been "hidden" rather than completely removed (damn you, Irodori Comics!).

Am I just not understanding something about the new site navigation?

Can we have the "browse expunged galleries" and "Search low powered tags" options work on the basis of OR instead of AND? It used to be OR. Or maybe someone have made a script for that then kind me direct me there.
Old behaviour if I check both: show galleries that are normal or expunged whose specified tags are normal or low powered
New behaviour if I check both: show expunged galleries whose specified tags are low powered

Just wanted to mention that the addition of the date search is a MASSIVE improvement! I imagine it was quite unpleasant to read through the comments in this thread after spending what was likely a great amount of effort to improve the search only to hear nothing but negative feedback. But hopefully this will resolve many of the users' issues.

What a user really needs is something on the results page that indicates it is showing results 451-475 out of 6000, or whatever the case may be.

Due to the limits of human memory, a user who reads everything on each page will be unsure if he clicked "Next" 19 times or only 18 by the time he reaches result 451.

This gets much harder if a user both jumps ahead by a date and navigates with "Next," because then he must remember both the date he input and his number of "Next" clicks to estimate what portion of the results he is looking at.

So many old accounts with such low levels. If they only knew the joy of the verse... the Hentaiverse.

Such massive amount of effort to completely ruin something that was working fine. Do you enjoy licking other's asses so much? Nothing is resolved, search is still a broken mess, description search is still deleted, no pages still.

Is there possible adding a calendar UI for enter or select a time instead of enter date only?iIt would be easier to use.

And i think the minimum step is still a little big.
Can it be cut down to a half day?at least.For example [Date]+[AM or PM].

It still need to kick almost 30 times to go through a day, and about 15 times to get middle from the day end.
Less than 10 times kick equal to one jump maybe beter,i think.Or may be 5?
If you can make it be one hour equal the minmum jump step,it would be almost the same as the old page system.

If the UI can let users know about how mch galleries between one jump,even a rough number,it could be perfect,I guess.

This is my experience from the old system.Actually,i haven't count the exactly times for the new.

Do you have security software infesting your firefox?
Does it work in other browsers like Chrome? Lynx?

One user had Trusteer Rapport causing the problem.

People aren't going to just get use to it, they are going to leave and find a website thats more user friendly, more than likely a competitor that simply skims off sadpanda and reuploads it somewhere else. None of the other features of the update are bad, but removing pagination and making up a bullshit excuse as to why its gone is not going to appease anyone who has used the website perfectly fine for years. The reason why the forums are more populated now than they ever have been is because removing pagination is bad and no one likes it, at the end of the day updates to the user interface are about end user experience not about developer preference. If you make the end user experience poor, your users will leave for a competitor that understands what they want.

This same attitude by developers/mods is all too common on this site, unfortunately. For example, page limits for tags. (I don't CARE that the artist only did the cover for the magazine, I still want it to be able to tag it!)

what i dont understnd is how does it make sense to keep the page number for the main site and not for the e-hentai site it just makes it harder to navigate and the dev says just bookmark it thats also not a option for everyone especially if its a family computer
