Ass Creed. I liked 2, played it at a friend's house, played the one where you're in Greece years later and hated it. They added looter-shooter RNG stats to a stealth game to make it less of a stealth game and more of a SCAM game. Learning all the wrong lessons from mobile gaming.

Or...

Spectral Tower, Loop 8, or Lunar Dragon Song. Never played them. Will never play them. 99% of RPGs suck.

I think it would be Borderlands 3. Actually, it would be the whole Borderlands franchise. Those jokes do not age well. Borderlands 1 was ok but I recently played it again and was amazed that 12 year old me found this funny. Gameplay is alright though.

Stronghold 3. Well, what can I say about this game... Yes, the graphics became better, but for the sake of it had to sacrifice gameplay I think, which was a fatal mistake of the developers.

Well most recently God of War: Ragnarok stands out for being a monumental disappointment. First reboot GoW was surprisingly decent but everything's been downgraded here - the mechanics, the story, the characters... it's up there with DMC2 and MGS4 for worst sequels.

The one that ranks first in my mind right now is probably SFC's "Werewolf: The Last Warrior", which has left an indelible psychological trauma on me

Lego Alpha Team on the Gameboy colour comes to mind.
It was about 10 levels long, could be finished in less than half an hour and was a disappointment that I've remembered since I was 8.

Probably Rockman X7, totally irredeemable. Even the 2D sections were clunky, slow, and frankly not very good.

For worst game ever bought, it would probably be Binding of Isaac in my case.

The floaty movement was an instant turnoff.
The rng level generation fucked me over so much, half my runs offered zero upgrades in one way or another. Like when I get 4,5,6 keys but no chest anywhere, or there is a chest, but it's surrounded by rocks which I can't blow away because no damn bombs dropped anywhere! Or I get tons of coins but the trader is inaccessible because I have no bomb to get through the wall or no key to open the door to him.
Every single projectile weapon that I've seen was dogshit.

This game singlehandedly awoke and killed my curiousity for rogue-likes in about 12h of gameplay.

Very close to that, though for more sentimental rather than technical reasons, was Sacred Citadel. I played Sacred Underworld and 2 (ARPGs both) on the German HC servers for years, even visited the international HC servers for some periods of time, and had a great time with both. Then sadly, the studio went bankrupt, some dipshit publisher bought the IP and shat out this travesty. Had ZERO to do with ANYTHING about the originals. They just took the name, slapped in onto some generic sidescrolling beat em up. Such a travesty.

Need for Speed: The Run. I got bamboozled by the cool trailers. The game was ass. It was too story driven and had no customization, and had beautiful maps with a whole lot of nothing interesting to do in them. It felt less like a Need for Speed game and more like some bland spin-off. It was the first game I ever pre-ordered, and the first game I ever traded in to Gamestop.

Worst game I ever owned: Frantic Flea (SNES). It's a tad too boring to be AVGN-worthy, but it's definitely shitty enough. Google it and you'll probably find a "Let's not play" video walkthrough that's too boring to sit through.

And then looking at steam for a more-recent worst game candidate, I'll go with The Cave. In a different universe this was probably a quirky, subversive, wittily-narrated exposition through a compelling cast of characters spanning multiple settings and histories as portrayed by creators with a sizable pedigree in delivering such things. But in this universe it was a tedious slog that combined all the tortuously arcane progressions of old fashioned adventure games with all the personality sucked out of it, as mandated by the then-modern coalition.

ass creed valhalla. never thought i could find a game more bland than skyrim, but that fucking blew me away by its sheer aggressive mediocrity. coincidentally that game also killed my desire for another rayman game.

I think it would've been better for me if the core loop wasn't so boring. Most of the missions regarding getting the counties or whatever on your side were very uninteresting. The world was beautiful, and I enjoyed the exploration, but it's the first ass cred I never finished, Odyssey was a slog towards the end too. I'm waiting for the Japanese one to hit game pass now.

The worst game I ever bought was DBZ Taiketsu as a kid and then I bought Legacy of Goku 1. Got burned twice.

Super Bomberman R2 is the first game I bought that actively pisses me off whenever I think about it. Achievements are bugged, a whole ass stage from SBRO is missing, local multiplayer is worst in every way, and the game runs like poo on consoles. Yet Konami priced it at $50.

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League. Just sad that Rocksteady went with the Live-Service model with this one and make it as boring as possible. Repetitive gameplay, controversial story, microtranscation... As expected, it did not last long
