It's right that the site can limit the amount of spam scans that hits the site, but it was wrong that the perpetrator had to make the owners actually think about taking action against their trolling. At least, we only have to worry about not mentioning Irodori on certain galleries. That's the only evil left that plagues this site that can't be dealt with properly by the owners...

Some of the earlier stuff threw me when looking through the galleries since I didn't know what to do with it, so in the end I ignored them.

Leaving aside the scanmark, the images are tiny and barely readable (700px in height).
They are intentionally degraded instead of being a low-res scan.
Even those old doujinantena stuff were at least 1000px in height. Those could be called low-res scans, but such 700px trash, NO.

If they are newer uploads then they should be killed, but I honestly don't think it is to the point where it absolutely needs to be expunged.

Similarly, I find these galleries, as older scans, should be acceptable:

I will check again with the administration anyway, seeing that he is the ultimate authority on this matter, so might as well use this opportunity to align with his standards more closely.

Finally, I was so happy seeing this on the news page earlier.

I mainly access the site through mobile apps instead of trying to use the desktop site on my phone.
But the problem is that all the ones I ever used never had Excluded Uploaders implemented.
And with how much I use the site I'd regularly end up online during cgc's upload streaks.
It was always so miserable trying to just browse the main page while scrolling through all the "Low Quality" scans five at a time (that fit on my screen at once with what I'm currently using TachiyomiSY) that I just stopped bothering to try on my phone.

Learning that I can actually use the front page comfortably on mobile now is so freeing.
That I can browse the site when, where, and however I want without needing to fear seeing walls of "Low Quality" spam that make that impossible.

It's was so insanely satisfying to remove cgc as the only entry in my Excluded Uploaders list just to see the last little attempt to keep spamming the site with "Samples".
I can only wonder where they'll go off to plague instead, but thankfully it won't be here anymore.

Was there a case where the copyright holder was considering action specifically because of cgc defacing their stuff where they wouldn't have otherwise?
I didn't really keep up with this at all until now, so is a surprise to me that there was any public discussion on finally dealing with this.

Should uploaders who post advertising galleries be banned? If we just keep expunging galleries without banning those uploaders, they will just post more.

cgc is actually active in renaming galleries, his toplist points are probably from his efforts there.

Personally, I would bring up the stance of preservation: that is, while many of these "defaced" galleries offer low quality content, they are still of value, especially when there are no replacements for them. Some of the galleries are for publications sold years ago, and would remain to be difficult to find copies to scan. It is unfortunate that the only copies uploaded are low-quality, but simply bringing the content online has its value to begin with.

So all in all I support expunging better than deletion, such that at least one digital source is available. Perhaps the community can muster some incentives on re-scaning these galleries to provide a better alternative? That I do not know.
