Is there a step-by-step guide for creating torrents for EH for someone who's never made any torrents before? I'm considering making some to earn GP but don't really know where to start. For example, I haven't the faintest clue where to use my torrent key.
I use qBittorrent, for reference. Thanks!

In addition to the more EHtracker specfic parts on the wiki, if you're looking for a more general guide: Create the torrent file (qBittorrent) 1. In qBittorrent select Tools -> Torrent Creator (IMG:[ i.imgur.com] https://i.imgur.com/JXrEUDb.png) 2. Select the files; If it's a single file press Select File otherwise press Select folder (IMG:[ i.imgur.com] https://i.imgur.com/NXrKq0B.png) 3. Set Piece Size to (auto) 4. DON'T CHECK THE PRIVATE BOX, it's not applicable here I just nicked the guide from a private tracker. 5. Enter the announce URL in the Trackers field 6. Press Create Torrent, choose the place to save the .torrent somewhere, qBittorrent will start hashing the files.

I've made my own torrent for one of my galleries, but the download for my personalized torrent has done nothing but stall. In the Trackers tab, the EHTracker responded that "the requested torrent does not exist on this tracker." What do I do?

Random guess: Did you create the torrent in V2 or Hybrid format? If so, try V1 only.

As you guessed I did create the torrent in Hybrid mode as it was the default setting, and using V1 has indeed got rid of the message from the tracker. However, the stalled download issue remains. I find that particularly strange too, because to my own understanding of torrents, I should essentially be downloading the files from myself. It's issues like this that prompted me to ask for a step-by-step guide - EHWiki (which yes, I had read beforehand) is very much insufficient at properly explaining what it is I'm doing.

Wait, download? I think the "stalled" state is normal; that seems to be what qbittorrent calls not-currently-active torrents.
But if you're the one who created the torrent, you should already have all the files, so you should be at 100% completion and uploading, not downloading.

You would think, but I've been stalling at 0% completion and so can't even begin to seed. As such, I'm sitting at 0 uploaded, 0 downloaded, and 0 seedmins.

I tried to duplicate the error that went away after you switched from Hybrid to v1 (I'm on an older version, so I don't have that option). I see the "requested torrent does not exist on this tracker" message when I open the torrent file created by qbitorrent, instead of the one EHT sends back when I go to the gallery's Torrent Download link and upload my torrent file there (it'll create a file whose name starts with "{EHT PERSONALIZED TORRENT - DO NOT REDISTRIBUTE}"). Could that be a thing here?

That most certainly played a part. I've tried to execute a whole bunch of .torrent files for a given torrent (which qbittorrent automatically merges in its list), and by setting the torrent type to V1, that tracker issue disappeared. Nevertheless, the primary issue - that I can't seed my own torrent - still puzzles me. It feels like I've done something wrong, though I've attempted all manner of things that seemed like they might be potential fixes.

It it's at 0% it's because the file you're trying to seed isn't where qBittorrent thinks it should be (Likely your default download location), check the path it should be at on the general tab under information (Save Path) and move the file there, then right click and Force Recheck.

As an additional note, and broadly speaking, please either avoid using qBitorrent to upload torrents on this site or ALWAYS make sure you make them with the V1 option available. V2 is not universally supported so it will naturally reduce the amount of people that can download your torrent.
You should also avoid Hybrid because that causes different incompatibilities and doesn't work with the EH tracker properly. V2 compatibility should improve this year since there has been some pressure with some dev teams but I personally would err on the side of caution.

That's part of why I've not rushed off version 4.3.9, at least until I have to.

Hey all.
So, let's say you already created and uploaded a Hybrid torrent.. how exactly do I delete my uploaded torrent from e-hentai and then replace/reupload a V1 torrent instead?

Expunge and reupload a new torrent You have 100 mp on expunging your own torrents edit: you expunge by clicking on torrents - information - expunge edit2: since i see you didn't do it yet, a couple pics: (IMG:[ i.imgur.com] https://i.imgur.com/reS1aH1.png) (IMG:[ i.imgur.com] https://i.imgur.com/m7ynlwv.png) This post has been edited by Byza: Aug 24 2022, 16:54

Thanks for the guide! I expunged the old one and reuploaded a V1 one. Awkwardly, the Hybrid one got 15 peers but it was set to "completed" so I "staretd" it agian, it successfully started seeding suddenly, but 5sec later it turned itself off to "completed" again. This was permantently the case, it never seeded properly but turned itself off after a few sec again, not sure why. I guess "hybrid" or "v2" is really disliked by e-hentai at the moment. (btw this turning off behaviour started when it successfully established connection to peers. the time when there were no peers and it didnt have any connection to any of them, it was activate at "seeding" but was basically seeding nothing since there were no connection. the moment connections happened it turned itself off always) This post has been edited by kaninchenspinne: Aug 24 2022, 19:07

EH can't make your torrent client stop seeding, so that's an issue with the torrent client itself. I dunno if hybrid torrents will work or not since the torrent format itself is a bit of a mess and it has a history of being broken even for major torrent clients (not very backwards-compatible is it), but V2 is not supported and won't be for the foreseeable future.

I see. I suppose the self-turning-off was due to a conflict between hybrid and e-hentai tracker, not sure (since that torrent was the only one selfturning off itself, all others didnt when seeding). but after changing it to V1 now, it works. awkwardly, therr are 8 peers but none of them connects ot me. only 1 peers connected to me once and got 100% download from me. all other 8 dont connect to me. could this be because of different countries/long distances? In general when availability is high enough and unless people have leeching settings, bittorrent will choose distribute peers 'fairly'. When availability is over 2 (when every piece of the file is at least more than twice in the swarm) you can expect your upload to go down as other seeds and peers start uploading, which is a core strength of the protocol. As your pieces become less rare, you are needed less. At the same time, in a couple weeks there will be less seeds and you could expect the torrent to suddenly demand a lot of your up when a peer connects. Alternatively, sometimes your conectivity to the swarm can be hindered for different reasons, not just distance to them, which is important too. *** Consider, too, that the stats displayed on EH have some delay and usually you will see peers and complete numbers that are outdated. Stats on your client are one-sided since you will only truly see peers you are connected or can connect to. *** one reason being not having a port forwarded.
