QUOTE(lurphysmaw @ Jul 18 2022, 04:05) For me, it's less of "do I stay up late", but rather I don't have a regular sleep schedule.

Staying up late almost every day, I know it's bad for my health, but I can't control it.

Staying up late to decrease time (sleep) without air cooling.

If you live in a 2 story home, then the exhaust fan should be on the top floor window and air intake at a ground floor window. If you have a home where it's not a problem to have fresh air flow from the outdoors, then you can jury rig evaporative cooling. The weakness of evap cooling is that it humidifies the air, so new fresh air is constantly needed and the old humid air leaves the house. If you're worried about outdoors dust, you can always do what MacGyver does and lean a 20 x 20 inch hepa-type filter on the intake side of a cheap box fan. The suction of the box fan pulls the filter tight against it and the filter will remove the dust and atmospheric dirt particles. Locate this fan/filter near by the source of fresh air (eg window) entering the home.

Instead of building a pc case inside your house you could just open your windows when it's cooler.

But if you have a Intel 200W CPU and 4090 GPU PC, then it may be cheaper (if you have home A/C) to simply route the exhaust air from your PC to the outdoors vent you mount in the window. That way, the home A/C doesn't need to cool that hot air, but instead cool the much less hot fresh air it gets from the outdoors via your normal bypass vent system.

If you're doing that CONSISTENTLY because you read forum posts here and there, and then respond to them, have you tried an alternative approach that might be more effective in responding to posts as well as providing a time limit? Go to sleep normally, but wake up earlier to go read and answer the forum posts. The advantage is that you will benefit (timewise) from someone else answer the post while you were asleep, and that you get to read even more updated posts to respond to at the start of the day. Your posts will benefit from being closer to the start time of the day for everyone else in your time zone, but also that your posts are better synchronized with other people in adjacent time zones which are all more likely to be from your own province or country. This may improve the relevancy of responses consistent with yours in a geographical sense. The other advantage is that you are up and presumably eating while reading/posting. By the time you take off for work or school, the food has had a little more time to digest and begin to boost your system for the start of the day.

Slept a bit too long the previous day, so "today I can be longer awake! Ha!" *sleeps for almost 11 hours* Every. Single. Time.

11 hours is maybe too long, 8 hours is probably ideal.

I can't realy sleep early. Usually sleep 12-2am to 6-8am. Which is more than enough sleep for me. But on days that I have nothing planned, will sleep till mid-day because I'm lazy

I try not to, but sometimes I get caught up in something (like looking at hentai or playing videogames) and stay up later than I meant to, and sometimes I have something I need to do during the day, which forces me to stay up late since I work at night.

Stupid body only want to sleep in the morning, so I'm resigning myself more and more to be up past midnight. It's 01:26 BTW.

Did you try melatonin like I suggested? It works for me. You just need to take it early enough; 30 minutes before bed doesn't work in my experience. I take 250 mcg around 1800 - 1830, and by 2100 - 2200 it actually feels like bedtime. You also need to get up in the morning to complete setting the new circadian rhythm, not lie in bed for hours after you wake up.
