The E-Hentai servers were apparently relocated to Moldova in 2019, after the famous scare when the authorities of the Netherlands declared they would no longer tolerate their presence in their country and the site was down for a week.
Moldova borders Ukraine. There's a thin sliver of territory between Moldova and Ukraine called Transnistria, held by Russian military forces since the end of the Cold War. Apparently there's been some unconfirmed reports of shelling in the area. Moldova has also declared a state of emergency.
The site is currently up as of this writing, but availability has fluctuated for me server-side within the past hour.
I don't know how the situation might develop in the coming hours or days.

I don't know how far away the servers are from the Ukrainian border, but I think it would be a good idea if Tenboro could somehow get in touch with the people taking care of the servers in Moldova and make sure they're safe.

Is there a backup somewhere in case something like this happens? There are tens of thousands of game cg sets, artist sets etc that could go lost forever.

Better safe than sorry, and we're not likely to have 24 hours warning again this time, nor was that remotely enough last time.
But I suppose it's a safe bet Tenboro isn't living in any CIS country, so there is that.

Remember Yuki.la, the lightweight archive for 4chan? Somebody actually went out of their way to scrape the entire site months before it got cut off without warning, millions of old historic (shit)posts were saved.

Most of those archival efforts folded once it became too much of a task to manage and the site showed signs of being safe anyway. I think however some people still worked on their own to get as most as they could. That said, the warning this time wasn't 24 hrs, it was 2 years and counting.

Yeah, it's fine to always be cautious no matter what. By the way a reminder nyafuu has just died and who knows if the alice one will keep up. Can't ever stop saving the things you like.
