I always choose solid black background. It seems that if you choose an image as your background, it slows down performance a little bit. Plus, this bootleg copy of Windows 7 Ultimate keeps changing my desktop background back even if I do use an image. I always end up hating the pictures, anyways, and find them to be distracting. I can't read the 50+ icons on my desktop as easily because the text blends in with the picture.

I have been using this one with black background for nearly 2 years now. It's picture i can use even when other people see my computer for it does not have much nudity and it looks good with my dark theme on any OS and window manager i use. Dunno if i should have lowered the resolution when linking here tho.
