As I was listening to your first song a few times, I was going to say here that it sounds like Yoasobi music (though I'm not sure why, as I have limited experience listening to Yoasobi). (In regards to my PM a year ago) I just realized the Slayers opening is sung by Megumi Hayashibara after all, well her and Masami Okui together. They take turns in the verses, reversing roles upon repeat, and sing the choruses together. I still think I don't like Megumi Hayashibara voice and Masami Okui rescued her subconsciously for me. I don't like Masami Okui deep voice type either, but now I found out that more of my favorite old anime songs were sung by her, and I don't think I've ever hated a song she sung, even if the music sounds like crap.

But the more important part is the prechorus. Both have exactly the same progression (ii-II-V), end with an arpeggio that's accompanied by mostly silence for a full bar. Then both choruses are rather similar, with both being circle of fifths going down, but in different ways. 君の夢 is some kind of strict downwards movement (that heavily resembles canon progression, might be the progression itself). 雪の果てに君の名を is probably the bird blues, which is like the first half of canon but a bit more colorful.

I think the AKB song is 6456 instead of 6451. Doesn't really sound like Higurashi to me. I guess you need slow piano solo at the start to get that -you- vibe. The Shiina Gou song, yes, I do remember this. I don't think they are that similar if we talk song writing. It's mostly just the same genre: instrumentation (heavy use of violin, a lot of drum rolls), very wide sound stage to create a concert-like feeling.

The song is green sleeves. Not sure where it came from, or what version is original, so I leave that to you. I also thought it was in Gunslinger Girl season 2, but that song turned out to be [kara.moe] scarborough fair. I wonder if there is any relation to green sleeves. I think I knew about green sleeves from elementary school. I don't know how I knew about scarborough fair but when I watched Gunslinger Girl and that song came up, I already recognized it.

Oh man, I don't know if I can survive watching another season (plus extras) of this show. The girl looks nice and I bought the first season blu-rays and don't regret it, and so I knew sogeth's contest song, but it is so boring and I just don't like this show. I don't like what it is about and most of all I hate the pacing and directing.

I just remembered that while I was watching season one Ancient Magus Bride, I had thought there was yet another song that sounded like green sleeves or some other irishy folk song. I won't rewatch to find out which. Season 2 has a different director, so I can still buy the blu-ray if the girl gets naked or wears swimsuit.

That SOS girl looks like Taiga, so I thought "wow Taiga became a vampire!" It's more her room though. Actually the girl looks more like Golden Darkness. To Love-ru is a traumatizingly bad show to watch, but some of its opening and ending songs are good (by Kotoko and Ray). I cannot distinguish arpeggios yet. The Touhou song reminds me of videogame music. Not sure which, maybe Gradius or some RPG or something you posted earlier.

Arpeggios are just chords but played individually instead of playing all notes together, so for example a C major chord is you pressing C E G at the same time while a C major arpeggio is you pressing C, then E, then G. I think the most iconic anime arpeggio is komuro in C# major with 7ths and without 3rds. a.k.a. [youtu.be] https://youtu.be/AqyKkcwd-rY?t=24. It's a rather unique way to play arpeggios tbh, since usually people would do 1 3 5 or 1 3 7, rarely 1 5 7 since the 5th is implied in a chord.

Just heard this for the first time, it's surprisingly good for what is apparently supposed to be a little kiddy show. When I looked the song up later, it's fitting that the closest songs it had reminded me of were european in origin. I don't know many european songs so my repertoire is limited and I'm not sure how close these clips are. I feel like there are some other songs more similar that I might have heard before, but can't place yet.

Wow, that's the exact 3rd song and same link I checked to see if it was similar yesterday. I decided it wasn't though, so I didn't link it. Maybe it was similar after all?

I also checked these two American Pokemon openings and some other songs like American Power Rangers but decided they weren't similar either. I still have this feeling something is out there that I haven't been able to figure out.
