QUOTE(Anto of the Sand @ Apr 8 2010, 22:10) Wow! It looks so much nicer than this piece. Tenpenny needs to get a couple more skins for this place.
Sorry dude, no offense. But you obviously know very little about web designing.

QUOTE(Spectre @ Apr 8 2010, 15:52) The fact that I've been through almost all of it is also a sad point.
Agreed.

I'm curious about the history of E-Hentai's ties to HentaiKey.

If that question answers why we still have any ties, I'd like to know it as well. It just doesn't seem like there is any advantage for us.

QUOTE how was this website created? In the beginning, Tenboro created the heavens and the Earth. Then he saw people were complete douches who tried to make taboo the things he thought sexy. So he said fuck'em and made this site instead. This post has been edited by BradRepko: Apr 9 2010, 18:59

You see... when a mommy and daddy love each other very much, the daddy will sometimes take his pants off and squat over the mommy's chest. Finding himself to be unable to drop a loaf in such an obscene manner, he asks for a blumpkin, instead. This is when a daddy sits on the toilet and makes BM while a mommy puts his pee-pee in her mouth and sucks out the delicious milkshakes that reside within. After that's all said and done, some of the milkshakes get onto the toilet seat and everyone forgets about it until the mommy sits down to do her business without wiping down the potty seat and nine months later a website pops out.
You see son, you were a mistake and we don't love you.

I've been following the site since the times of the old net site, and there is no denying it is the best incarnation ever - but with all due respect (kowtowing, praise, whining, etc.) to Ten, I'd feel better if I knew that there there are some plans to take the site over if he were ever to "fall of the planet" (or gets bored with the site, or annoyed with one more attack from morality police, etc.).

To the extent where I was in the position to plan for it, and provided I could find someone who were capable of doing it. As for the operation of Galleries itself, it's a fairly complex machinery involving twenty-some servers running about a dozen different programs with varying levels of customization, as well as a megabyte or so of custom PHP code that's hooked into about five other systems, so it's not something anyone with some rudimentary website skills can run.

Another super computer with very high AI required. Make sure it can/already learn some emotions. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Ooh, me, pick me! I took a web design class in junior high, so I think I might be an expert.

I know you're joking, but.. explain the relevance and potential pitfalls of cryptographic hash algorithms for a distributed memory object cache, both with regards to the local cache on each server and to the system as a whole. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

QUOTE(Red_Piotrus @ Apr 25 2010, 23:35) So I was looking at the forum member history. Here's something interesting: https://forums.e-hentai.org/index.php?showuser=1 -> doesn't exist https://forums.e-hentai.org/index.php?showuser=2 -> MoogleMail (used in Hverse - but with 9 posts on the forum? last active 6th June 2006 - 21:44) https://forums.e-hentai.org/index.php?showuser=3 -> OTD - seems like a regular forum member account, last active 9th December 2006 ... who was he and how did he get such an early forum number considering... https://forums.e-hentai.org/index.php?showuser=4 -> Gallery System https://forums.e-hentai.org/index.php?showuser=5 -> Snowflake https://forums.e-hentai.org/index.php?showuser=6 -> Tenboro https://forums.e-hentai.org/index.php?showuser=7 -> some lucky lurker... :> Regular accounts follow. User 1 = default admin created when the forum was created. As for OTD... couldn't you tell by checking where his last posts/topics were? He was one of the original three from the .net website. The other 3 accounts were test accounts by OTD and Tenboro, later re-purposed by Tenboro. QUOTE(3d0xp0xy @ Apr 9 2010, 04:51) I'm curious about the history of E-Hentai's ties to HentaiKey.
E-Hentai.net used servers from various free adult hosts (I know the idea that they exist is kinda funny, [ asoko.banzaihosting.com] example of a page still alive on one of those hosts). I do not recall who was the one to set up hentaikey, but if I remember correctly it was a combination of getting easier/more reliable hosting as on occasion the free hosting sites would go under or would delete stuff. Since Euphoric Visions continued the use of the same hentaikey content, I assume that EVA was the one who set it up actually... and Euphoric Visions definitely had fun dealing with hentaikey's demands for what was allowed. @Anto: I originally joined within 5 days of the site opening to the public, and then didn't come back until 6 months later as Spectre (I forgot the log in and didn't care to have it reset). I vaguely, vaguely remember "Euphoric Visions....." But then again, I've been enjoying Hentai since the mid-to-late 90s, when I first cut my Hentai teeth on an ancient site called "naughtytentacles.com" (I loves me some Tentacles) and "Digital Pink" (or was it "Digital GraphiXXX?") and "blazing fast" websurfing meant downloading one picture in a minute or so, longer if it was in color. Those were the days...... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
