Yeah; most of the new stuff can't even be compared to it. Even ultra low budget hand drawn junk still won in style points. Things like K-On are cute for around five minutes. And then I am incredibly bored. A-Ko, however, I could watch on repeat for a whole day.
I think that half the problem is the sheer quantity of crap being pushed out flooding the market. Similar to the U.S. film industry (at least the stuff at theaters).

The CIA is full of MAPS, none were charged, a few were fired. The federal laws exempting CIA from disclosing their operations allowed them to use internal investigations to handle all the cases. Every time time they audit staff computers they find a 'concerning' number of staff with illegal images.

It was a ratings hit, so at least they finished showing it. Xmen, DBZ and Tekkaman then Pokemion, aired in the same time slot.
