As I said before, the US is dying. Our leaders are corrupt and backed by idiotic blind supporters. I want to live in another country instead. Any suggestion?
Recognized by more major countries than Taiwan, consider the following emergent countries:
Okay, Aieka's cute. Really cute. Adorable. Heartmelting, even. However, I will still respect your claim to your purple haired red eyed cartoon wife. I've already got one, you see. [i.imgur.com] (IMG:[i.imgur.com] https://i.imgur.com/7b8Fi8Eg.png) Other thoughts: Ryoko's attitude that would probably make a terrible abusive long term cartoon relationship, but I still kind of like her for reasons of tomboy. Also she has a good heart, I guess. Just a weird way of roleplaying.
Also, this is of far lesser importance, but I'm not really one for squeaky voices.
It's been fun to realize I can often tell when the subtitles are being bowdlerized. Makes me feel like I'm really learning something at last. Anyway, watched the first 7, will take a break and watch something else on my list and come back.

Finished the second OVA series for Tenchi Muyo. Universe next? Or some other series. Always looking for a recommendation because my exposure to anime (both old and new) is actually rather limited. I mostly read manga. And your new ayeka picture is also good. Glad Eiko was recognizable.
Always takes a few days whenever I start messing with my sig or profile picture to settle on something. Been thinking of trying to draw C-ko. But I don't know yet. I've had an itch to draw the knight sabers for months now, and an itch to draw Rika for even longer. And the dirty pair now as well. And some characters from Jitsu Wa Watashi Wa (another rare example of a harem I enjoyed; this was a somewhat recent manga by comparison). It might be pretty fun to try to give them an older manga art style.

I have the original pioneer set that still has the little chibi cardboard cutouts of all the characters in the cases.
Sounds cute. Some day I think I'll try to get that and bubblegum crisis tapes just for collection's sake. If the prices haven't gotten insane for VHS tapes because of collectors by that point.
Bubblegum crisis takes priority for me. I cried. Despite my bleeding heart on FSZ I swear that hasn't happened watching anything in a long time. And certainly not twice in one series (in back to back episodes). Shame it didn't (properly) get its original 12 episodes. But #6 felt like a good stopping point. And I've read Mackie was sort of a starting point for Tenchi anyway. ...But things like "Astro Boy"/Atom (the manga) Chobits (and even a shojo called Karakuri Odette) have always been my favorite types of stories (and they were the things that got me interested in anime/manga to begin with). So it's not entirely surprising that it had an impact on me. There's just something about robots that makes them a great way to reflect on humanity.
I've heard some good things about Key the Metal Idol. Not sure it'll match the high points of BGC though.
Fuck, this is FSZ. Err, I mean gay homo gay

I got rid of all my tapes, as I had no VHS player after going threw like four cheap ones. The anime VHS I had were almost all ex-rentals so they were in pretty poor shape to begin with.

My current omnivision (panasonic) has endured quite well. I think it's been my primary VCR since 2009 or so. I get the feeling it wasn't used much by its last owner.
I just wish I had an S-VHS deck (and a betamax one, since I have a handful of beta tapes).
I've wanted a laserdisc player for some time as well. I just don't see them at garage sales.
I'd just be getting them for the art, even if the boxes were beat up. And sentimentality. It's also the primary reason I would collect vinyl.

Rental tapes often suffered from the anime fans. They would make a copy, then open up the rental cassette and swap the inferior copy for the original tape.
The high end VHS player I had lasted the longest but by the time of the third repair most of the service centers were dead.

I knew of people copying the tapes but not people actually swapping the copies. That is pretty scummy.

Maybe if you can be a high ranking CCP member that belongs to the right faction and you have a portfolio that is not controversial.
HK used to be pretty chill but not as much anymore.
China was doing better than the US, but it seems that they are almost having a financial crisis. If US ramps up interest rates too rapidly due to their excessive spending then it could be a major problem.
I used to have a GoVideo copier deck. That was pretty fun to mess with.
Too bad it took so much space. It still worked fine. Was mono only, though; my current VCR is "hi-fi" stereo.
I had a high end dubbing station for a while, it could copy at 2x speed. But it was heavy and big. Also I don't think it worked on the 'new' VHS copy protection. A cheaper deck I had, just ignored the copy protection though.

Yeah, if you mean macrovision, it relied on the auto-gain controller on VCR's to work.
If yours didn't have one, or if you could bypass it, it would bypass macrovision.
