And it's a hell of a lot less expensive to practice coloring on a computer.

It's also great if you want to try to figure out elements of a specific style. The profile picture I'm using was basically a study in hair lighting.

I kind of want to try to do something with this. But I don't want to just trace it, either. We'll see if I ever actually do anything. I think it could be a good reference for face shapes in general.

I have a fondness for Mysterious Cities of Gold still - it's a joint production of RTL (luxembourg) and Studio Pierrot so it might count as anime. The art style is somewhere in between, but the animation style does have an anime feel to it.

I always feel weird about french/canadian/japanese collab stuff like Skyland or Wakfu or the dozen other 3D CGI series.

The music on Skyland was great, and at the time cell shading was a new animation technique so it was a novelty.


I watched the entire series in French of course, filthy american dubs ptui.
Try watching 5 minutes of this and then compare it to the English version.






I also quite like the Canadian stuff like Team Galaxy, Martin Mystery, Totally Spies, 6teen, W.I.T.C.H.
There was also the Italian Winx Club.

Basically i liked to watch stuff with hot bitches in it.
