but i have never been to a disney park.

They cancelled it because it was one of the first main stream movies to feature an African American lead. Its set during the reconstruction period because it is based on famous short stories by African American writers.

They pulled an Uncle Tom's cabin and made up some BS about it being racist. The democrats complained about African Americans being on screen when it released, and democrats campaigned to get it banned.

I had to read Uncle Tom's cabin in high school, which is why I am always confused why they use Uncle Tom as an insult. Americans are stupid.

I think it's that the black character is pragmatic about his situation and subservient to a fault (the "uncle tom-ism" thing).
but in song of the south he repeatedly goes against what he's been told by continuing to tell the kids stories and gets in trouble for it. So it's really not the same IMO.

Interesting to note the actor for Uncle Remus was not allowed to attend the premier (which was in a segregated theatre).
i think it's just something that disney finds inconvenient and would mostly rather people forget about except for the animated bits and the one famous song.

I have a question, something that has been bothering me for a while. Why for modern movies produced by Disney and other similar distributors do they pick the most boring ass scenes for the ads and trailers.

I see some of those ads and think "wow this movie looks boring as shit, why would I watch this crap?"

Do they pick the least offensive scene to not trigger people?

Yeah the movie is getting roasted. It doesn't work if the queen is objectively more attractive than Snow White in every way.
